I just read last night that Vanity Fair has named “Madonna” as “Queen of Pop”. I laughed. Pop music can have her. But if Madonna is the queen of pop then these inspirational Celtic women (with real genuine talent) are truly the “Queens of Class”. Their inspirational voices and performances will be played and valued LONG after the truly “mad” Madonna has passed into oblivion. May God bless every performer of this group of Celtic Woman. To me they were among the best Celtic Women ever! ❤
With all due respect for the others that have been a part of Celtic Woman, these 5 together are my favorite. Their voices compliment each others so well the transitions between each of them singing is so smooth. Yet they can each sing multiple parts as support and in perfect harmony.
It would. Be the. Concert. Of the. CENTURY , JUST. LIKE. YOU. SAID . Can you emagian,. How big the area would have to be. Somewhere. In. A. Valley ,. For the echo,. Or a. Big Stadium. Wow.
I miss Alex the most! Her radiant smile is present in every single song she sings and you can tell that she truly deeply means every single word she sings.
This group are my favorite. I don't know why others call themselves "celtic woman" too cause they aren't you! You are the Celtic Woman origionals. LOVE LOVE LOVE YOU!!!
This does Dworak's tune such sweet justice. Truly a song of angels. I was teary eyed hearing and seeing this while at the show and am so again with this video. Breathtaking.
Being Italian and speaking it I feel like I have a better appriciation for this song than most. Hearing these beautiful ladies with such angelic voices singing in Italian with that hint of Irish...nothing beats it.
This is without a doubt one of the most beautiful renditions of ANY song I have ever heard in My eighty years. It is most difficult to improve on the already eloquent compliments provided here. This is the song that led me to purchase the DVD that contains all of the fantastic numbers the group performed at the Gardens. I play this song at least once per day. So soothing; so moving!
I miss them all, especially Orla and gorgeous, glorious Meav. But Celtic Woman regenerates and evolves. As long as they have Mairead (and David) it will still be Celtic Woman.
Orla and Meav were not in this grouping. To me this was the best grouping. The voice compatibility was astonishing as were the ranges, styles, expression and sheer talent. This was gold. The youth of Hilary and Agnew with the deeper experience of Kelly and Sharpe .. what a team!
This was my childhood song and I know every word now that I'm older I'm going through tough time and hearing these talented ladies sing brings me joy~ a 14 year old girl
The harmony here is incredible. Lynn mainly vocalizing in a very soft, high voice, above all others. Chloe fresh and pure. Lisa warm and earthly. Lovely Alex sweet and gentle, but still powerful. I even can hear all elements in there voices. Lynn = water, Chloe = air, Lisa = earth, Alex = fire. And then, amazing Máiréad fiddling! It actually sounds a little like a very beautiful nearly human voice.
Hehe, I'm glad! I always enjoy making new CWazies ;D And you introduced me to Peter Karrie! You'll have to check yout CW's christmas carols (including O Holy Night), their acapellas, musical songs and celtic stuff! They are the most amazing group on earth - for ten years now!
Clearly, Chloe has the purest and sweetest voice, but Alex by far has the most passion in her singing. They're all amazing and talented, but Alex gives her all into every note, every tone, and every second she sings. She made Celtic Woman better than it already was.....
This song was sung at my Grandpa's funeral, and it means so much to me that the people I admire more than anything in the world would sing it this beautifully. I love them, and I love my grandpa so much!
The melody is the most known movement of Antonon Dvorak's (maybe the greatest czech komponist) Simphony "New World". Excellent music, beautiful performance :)
I love how Lynn began the song. we all miss Meave and Orla but I'm glad Lynn and Alex are getting more recognition. Lynn is just shy I think. but she's a very talented singer.
No one of them is better than the others. They are each unique in their own right. Each one brings something special to the ensemble to form a team that harmonizes so well they sound as one.
I litterally have goose bumps and tears streaming down my face. There's no word to describe how stunningly beautiful this song is!!! CW has out done themselves with this DVD! Everyone is INCREDIBLE! You can tell that everyone (band/orchestra, choir, all of the girls, David, and everyone behind the scenes) put their hearts and souls into this DVD. I've only seen 2 songs so far from the DVD but its so easy to tell that this is going to blow everyone out of the water! I LOVE CW!!!!!
Bravissime le Celtic Woman...riescono persino a pronunciare in maniera decente l'italiano... Complimenti anche alla stupenda orchestra, alle musiche, a tutti e a tutto insomma!
I have always been fascinated by that kind of music. After seeing this is my fascination was even greater - the little violinist is just crazy good and the singers even better. Can anything other than enjoy and love. Will wish one day I will be able to experience them in reality.
Truly angelic, heavenly music - makes me go speechless with emotion. The melody is from Dvorak's 9th symphony movement 2 (Largo) which the Czech composer created around 1895 and is considered "folk music". The words put to it are partly Italian, and seem to describe life's flowing, unstoppable movement towards the final resting place. Dvorak's faith in God greatly inspired him. I love the way Chloe can do such a perfect "roll" of the letter "r" in Italian.
I LOVE Celtic Women even before I knew I was Irish and Scottish and British. I have my favorites but to me they are all the greatest. I hope they never stop performing in my lifetime.
Wow.....Most songs aspire to tug at your heartstrings, pulling you into the magic that is the beauty of music. Yet despite all their effort, they simply just sound nice. Not this masterpiece! It completely mesmerizes me. It's like they used their angelic voices to open up the heavens and let us glimpse an everlasting peace and joy. No matter how tough my day has been, I listen to this song and my soul is instantly at rest. I never want it to end....THANK YOU, CELTIC WOMAN!!!
This song really shows how much Chloe's voice has grown over the years. I never really liked her much in the earlier CDs/DVDs, but she really got better. I don't know if she just grew into her voice or what, but I love her songs and the way she sings them in Songs From the Heart.
I love Lynn! She is so pretty ans she sings veryy well!! i love the first part when she sings! Unfortunately she isn't in the group i thing thats so saad! :(
This is beautiful music,I have 11cds of the Celtic music and I play them everyday I never get tired of their beautiful music.colleen harriss-cairns,australia
