I just watched the Jon Stewart episode. It's funny how she didn't double down on the comment she made about SA "being late to the cause" and that he "could've done more, sooner about covering and promoting the WNBA", because that's what brought everybody's attention to Monica, not her take on Clark. If she does in fact take that quote back, I'd love to see an apology otherwise I'm losing faith in the integrity of her business model as an NBA analyst and general human being. But now let's get specific about her take on C. Clark: The only question that comes to my mind to respond to her saying: "the league has been physical for a long time and most of the new viewers are just late to the bandwagon!" is this: 1/ How many players got cheap shots on that exact same game day? in fact take it a little further how many players throughout the first few weeks leading to that incident had similar physical altercations? I haven't had the luxury to watch every single game this season but from what I have been fortunate to see, the competitive drive during the first few weeks of the season hasn't been to the extent to warrant cheap shots and fights in the middle of most games. 2/ Now this is where SA makes his point: *This was a rarity aimed at somebody who is making every body shine, and whilst the feelings leading up to it make sense and are definitely understandable they will never justify the actions at least in a logical, ethical and humane manner and that in turn has the potential to make the whole league look bad. There have been a lot of players from the same race who came before Caitlyn and I think her being chosen as the golden prospect of the WNBA has a lot more to do with this sole narrative. All in all I wish SA and Caitlyn the best and I hope all unfair treatment to both of them stops ASAP!
