I believe intention of not hooking the negative terminal to the negative battery post is to prevent a spark that could potentially ignite hydrogen gas and Battery may give off. I have seen some people say they've never had luck unless they did connect this to the negative battery post. Since this has an on-off switch a spark is very unlikely to occur when connecting the cables. Some newer cars actually have a post under the hood labeled ground for jump starting.
so did you ever make a follow up video? I looked and could not find. My question is how to know when it needs a charge. When i turn it on the lights go from red to yellow to green to red to yellow to green etc. Does that mean its charging? or needs a charge? This is my third or fourth one of these in 20 years, they have saved me several issues living far from an air station. They die in a few years and I do keep them charged up. But my previous one (all HF) just went red when needs a charge and green when charged??? Hope you can help. I havent charged in 2 months and now all 3 lites blink in running sequence.
I just got one and plugged it in and it was in the green. Now im worried someone else gave it first charge and if they did not do it proper i could have battery trouble there saying. It should have taken like 2 days im thinking to go green not 5 mins
george kaylor. don't worry much about that being all ready charged. mine was exact same way. it was green in a few mins also. but I read something about some were fully charged when purchased. I used mine 1st time yesterday. wow. it freaked me out + I must have not had it on a good ground and it sparked like crazy when I hit the on switch. I thought my car would be ruined.thank God it was good. scared me cause I need my car. lol. it started fine after I put my pos to battery. and neg_ to engine block area. I turned switch on a few mins and it started fast.
Thank you all for your input. It helped ease my worries because I just picked up one of these today for $117.00 with a 2 year full guarantee. I plugged it in and in less than a minute it was fully charged. I wasn't sure if the gauge was broken or what and if I was supposed to leave it plugged in for 2 days regardless of it showing it's fully charged. After reading y'all's comment I unplugged it. GOD bless.🇺🇲🫡
Ive never drove a truck before but if its something like that i would get a bigger one. This is fine for your daily driver but if its something $200k you might want to get bigger.
better make sure you put black _( neg) secure to a grounding area on engine. about any clean metal area. not near fuelrail. and red on +( pos) or it will spark!!! so freekie!!! it scared me when I turned switch on. but I finally got it hooked up good and firm. it worked good. now I gotta charge it about all night. oh well. I will keep it but I really want a small lithium ion unit. easier and smaller.
Sparks are normal and wont hurt anything unless your car is a pos. Most of the tile if you dont have a good connection you wiggle it until it sparks. That way u know its connected. However, DO NOT put the positive and negative together. THAT is bad. Be very carefull in that part.
sorry to be so offtopic but does any of you know a tool to log back into an instagram account? I was dumb lost the password. I would love any help you can offer me.
I just got mine for $89 but its the 150 psi one…harbor freight didnt have the 250 psi one. I drive a car tho so that should be fine. If i was in a truck or something bigger id look for the 250 psi.
