It wasn't exactly a court of law, but I get what you mean. This is actually a very serious subject - censorship of the media. But Scorcese handled this scene brilliantly by giving it a light enough touch to show what a bunch of pompous assholes the censorship board really were. People could laugh at Howard Hughes and say he.had OCD, locked himself away for months on end or whatever. But he wasn't stupid and nor was he insane.
this is up there with "oh darn" from Speed and "Alexander Dumbass" for The Shawshank Redemption as some of my all time funniest scenes from non comedy movies
I like the Way di caprio rolling his eye, and the doctor reaction pointing his self when di caprio said “YES”... and when the doctor said “the actual cleavage”...
Yeah he's a meteorologist that works for Hughes but he's got the German accent and seems scholarly. So Huges dragged him to the meeting without telling him what was happening and had him pretend to be a mathematician on the spot, knowing that the idios on the board would either buy it or just not want to have to listen to his lecture anymore.
