This was great, thank you. I have downloaded most of your videos for when I take my 2003 LX 470 into the outback here in Australia. Your content is amazing, but how you explain everything so clearly and patiently is a real skill, thanks again. You will probably save me from getting stranded in the Simpson Desert or somewhere on the Nullabor Plain. Thanks again.
Thank you for uploading Landcruiser videos I think I seen all already and learned a lot, I have a 1999 same like yours white but I painted the grey trims satin black. A big, big thank from redlands CA
Your videos have always been a real "go-to" for us!!! This one has to be one of my favorites. The topic and points you touch on are right on. We own a 2000' LC and seem to have had very similar issues. Thanks, Daric!
thank you! I used this video to get my LX center console apart and my IBS duel battery controller reset and back together in minutes! Once again Chowcares got me rolling! You helped me pick and install rear springs too and a few other things! Thx! If you ever make it out to Colorado look me up!
I just did this amazingly simple edit. (Thanks!!) We got rid of the AHC and swapped it with the junk pocket. Now... I need to find a bottle of Purell that fits exactly in there to enable crawl control!!
Dude.....DUUUDDEEEE!!!! You gotta check out BenCC's cupholder replacement on MUD. Can't tell you how phenomenally better it is than the stock ones and since you have that thing out you gotta do it!
Love the channel. I'd like to see how to remove and potentially customize the rear panel of the center console (what the rear passengers use to control the radio/vents/cup holders). It's a useless panel that has a poorly designed cup holder and could house a USB port or other nice upgrade. I'd also be interested in changing or repairing a clock spring in the steering wheel. I'm getting a rubbing sound behind the wheel that I know is the clock spring. I plan on starting the repair by removing the steering wheel caps on the sides of the wheel and adding grease, but if it's more than that I'd love to see steering wheel removal and clock spring replacement. Your channel ROCKS, keep up the awesome work!! Gaining new subscribers daily.
Awesome content as usual, as a fellow 100s LandCruiser owner I have learnt a lot from your videos keep it up! I would like to learn how to fix a loose break paddle
If you haven't done it yet, I would love to see a video on how you can seal up the driver's side exhaust manifold, from the known issue of it leaking around the bolts. I've heard of people put exhaust putty on it from iH8Mud, but don't know how to access it.
I have a problem after following your steps and replacing this switch. I put everything together and went to start my truck and now it doesn't want to turn over now. I ran my scan tool and nothing is showing. Any ideas? Starter maybe? Other then that your tutorial was spot on!! TIA!!
Nothing in the center console should cause your truck to not start. You could leave all the switches unhooked and it should still start. Make sure it’s in park. If it still won’t start there’s something else wrong
Hi there thank you for your videos! Not sure if you have a video about that topic already but the light on the gears (P, D, N, etc) is so light, I can barely see at night. Is there a way to exchange that light bulb? Thank you in advance :)
Hi Cho.. Amazing content as always.. I hv an LX470 1998.. Very similar to the LC.. Pls make one on suspension and all that.. If u hv it already.. Please share. Thanks.
I ordered the small phone/change holder insert from Toyota to fill the blank cover insert. Perfect for a phone holder. 58839-60020 should be the part number for 01-02 models but it should work in all 100 series Toyota told me. Best $10 mod
Thank you! I will def watch! I think you have the best instructional vids for the 100 series. And the cadence and voice that makes me feel like i can do the projects too. Haha!
I’m currently putting the same Cobra 75 in my 2000 Land Cruiser. How did you route the coax cable into the console area? Did you come around under the drivers side and into the console? Also I’ve found there’s a nice flat spot on the passengers side footwell to mount a cobra external speaker, not sure if it’s needed but should be easy to route into the console to get to the control box! I just mounted it with 3m double sided sticky tape to avoid drilling lol
Coax cable came in from the firewall on drivers side. Ran along the firewall to the passenger side. Seems to have less interference compared to when I ran it in the engine bay
I have a problem with my power door locks. It seems when I hit the switch from the remote control or the switch itself from the vehicle for it to lock or unlocked it losses power and won’t lock all the way or unlock sorry if I’m not being specific but the problem is if I play with the lock/unlock button for couple of times it will dye and I have to wait for a period of time in order to work again by the way it’s a 2005 land cruiser
For your cup holders: According to Toyota you have to buy that entire center console to get any cup holder parts, including the adjustable slide in cup holder "wings". But after much searching I found this aftermarket piece on Amazon, which works perfectly: www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07K53CRXC/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o09_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
I'd be interested to know if you use a scanner to view and modify codes in the vehicle. Specifically, if your vehicle is a 1998 or 1999. I have a 1998 LX470 which only has OBDI, and so most scanners don't work with it, only supporting OBDII. I tried years ago to get reasonable information from the vehicle but it didn't really work. The "free" software only worked on Windows XP, which isn't practical these days, although I have a very old laptop that sort of still runs it. Thoughts? PS: This may not be of value actually. I just checked and USA vehicles had OBDII from 1996. But my Lexus is an Australian version, and we didn't make OBDII a requirement until 2006, although some vehicles still had it earlier. I suspect mine uses something called eOBD.
Hey man I just picked up a 2001 lx470 and I’m super hyped to start building it up. I noticed that the pwr button does not light up on my dash or my center console as well as the traction control button. Could these both be faulty lights ?
