This really is the last closedown with a simple black background and a Central logo with the GOOD NIGHT banner on it. The sleepy village closedown ident was the new night time film from the end of 1985 onwards.

Jack Haig was seriously considered for the role of Corporal Jones - he did make at least one appearance in Dad's Army, as well as a regular role in 'Allo 'Allo which would have boosted his name at this point. I'll probably get flamed as a bitter old socialist, but I always hate BUPA ads. Severn Sound is now Heart but all the other stations remain, at least in name, mainly because they overlapped with the existing Heart regional stations.
