this is the second video with a dressing change that I've watched with this lady and Mike. I would like to see Mike have a go at it. He might give a better example to watch and learn from. Please update this video with better procedural follow through
Most IV text books do state 48 hours if you put a gauze pad under the clear dressing and a week if you put a biopatch. In real-world applications, most facilities have a policy for 24 hours if the site is not visible due to gauze.
Dressing changes for central lines should occur every 5 to 7 days with a transparent dressing or every two days with a gauze dressing. The dressing should also be changed if it tears, becomes loose or visibly soiled.
