The answer is history. The Underground is very old and TFL is too poor at the moment to fix these issues. The main issue that day was that there were 2 trains terminating short.

They kinda do, they kinda don’t. Rush hour peaks don’t last that long, and it’s only this bad on some lines and some stations, and it seems this day was especially bad as many routes were out of service. If you travel earlier or later you don’t experience as much chaos. If your job needs you to get there by a certain time then you may need to go through this, or put up with a long wait at your job if you travel early.

Either due to delays or other stuff.

I believe there were line closures, and all the effected lines were terminating here, and people couldn’t leave the platform until the right train arrived. It’s not usually this bad.

Because for some reason, trains were terminating at Liverpool Street.

@Toch Stuff I would say feel free to party like it is 2019 right now - but be serious about ventilation if indoors. In settings like public transport and people are crammed in together and that may involve someone extremely vulnerable or someone suffering from respiratory symptoms or a health care worker having to urgently get to a medical setting, then the mask mandate for public transport - including taxis, should never, ever have been dropped, and that the rule should apply to children as young as 6 years old. It is just plain russian roulette and what a horrible way to catch COVID in a place that can be very stressful. Spain is absolutely not going to drop mandatory masks on public transport. If that decision was left to myself, I would have made masks for public transport mandatory effective from 1st October to 31st March every single year, all because flu vaccines are not 100% effective in preventing person to person transmission, and if COVID is still endemic, then all year round. It is better to be safe than to be sorry, and is also the responsible and compassionate thing to do! Mandating masks for public transport again does not necessarily mean going backwards because it does not affect the social fabric of life in any way whatsoever!

Bloody hell mate give it a rest. You Want the world to stop and the economy to suffer because of a bad cold? You've got to face up to the reality that London cannot stop In its tracks forever without significant damage to the economy.
