In this solution the masses never touch the external rim, which is only for connecting entire system to electric motor and for placing on roller bearings. I assume that this system can produce linear thrust by changing speed of rotation of the weights what is realized by using the stack of electromagnets and the permanent magnets in the bar between the weights and by the combination of switching of magnetic fields along the bar. The difference in location of each of masses is also important, because if the mass is passing a short way from the center of rotation it is generating small centrifugal force but if the mass is passing on the longer path from that center it is generating stronger centrifugal force. This can happen of course with assumption that the energy requirements from the electric motor will be fulfilled by a proper electric current parameter which will have included the problems with eccentric mass location during the rotation of the rotor. The bar with masses consists of the stack of permanent magnets and it is oscillating inside the external to it electromagnets in both sides. Inside the permanent magnets there is non-ferromagnetic rod, and it is holding entire bar with ball masses in one piece. The electromagnets (here in orange color) are switched on to attract the permanent magnet bar up every time the bar is coming out from the horizontal position, what is happen two times on every whole turn of the device.
