This was really something special. I like how some of the interior looks like the Hanging Gardens of Babylon, or Century III. And you two look great as seniors. Very distinguished.
I mean… I doubt the structure will be still standing in 50 years. It’ll probably get condemned or collapse on itself or get burnt down to nothing. Recently, West Mifflin voted 6-0 on condemning C3, so expect it within the next year to be gone. This is probably the sad reality. Let’s say though that in an alternate universe that the mall never was condemned, and it was still standing in 2053. Would it look like the images here? I was probably say somewhat like this, however if the malls current condition in 2023 progresses, then I would expect a decent portion of the parking to have collapsed. The main part of C3 would look like the photos to an extent, except add in homeless people or a bunch of random abandoned vloggers into it (if that remains a thing in 2053). If the mall does still remain in 2053, I bet that you would probably end up visiting it and compare the photos.
This was awesome! My childhood Mall,Monmouth Mall in Eatontown NJ is going to close soon, and I can't tell you how silly I feel for being sad over it.I'm 57,been going there since I was a toddler. Thank you for this Nostalgic and sentimental video,I really appreciate and identify with it.
This was incredibly well done...from the conceptual idea to the creation, the aging of the two of you in the intro, I was most taken by the carousel for some reason
Cool video! The one thing I’d say would be different is the parking garage would probably be reduced to rubble by then. It’s nearing failure right now.
You've got some of the overgrowth in the "age progressed" images looking so "primeval!" Almost like something from out of Sid and Marty Krofft's old 70s Saturday Morning show, _Land of the Lost!_
Great vid as always! Very cool to think about what will happen. I don’t see the length of the time to demo as long as Dixie Square. Between social media, pressure on local officials and the stress c3 puts on the resources of West Mifflin, something is hopefully going to happen a bit faster now that the condemnation vote took place. Any word on if MB has responded to the vote?
Dixie was a weird one. No other mall will sit that long unless it is owned by a town with no money, passed on by one corrupt owner to another, and is loaded with asbestos.
Hey it is my cousin daile and my niece elana.... nice to see this channel again. Elmyra and used to do that before she died. Thank for getting these shots to go with my art for mee. This means yo are keeping oiupe with our agreement the picture match perfectly thanks I needed the on set shoots. If all else fails with the yearly shots I will get the 2053. I am still alive but now vy-counte LA Rochelle. -DR.DRE
The irony is that this could be the outcome, however i forsee the part of the mall and parking structure collapsed. And there will still be people getting in and making videos!
👍👍👍👍👍👍 I really miss Century 3 Mall. Moonbeam owns the property, it's their responsibility to tear it down, as in the plans. The people of Moonbeam are criminals who deserve to rot in prison. I reside in Weirton, WV, I came to this mall starting in the 1980s until the mall closed.
Sad thing is this mall was going to end up either needing MAJOR renovations or like it is now- from what I hear the foundation was beginning to fail because of the site it was built on. This started a domino effect.
Still looks better than a mall that really sat for 30 years🤣 The mall that had everything! The one and only Dixie Square. You know that mall that was driven through by the Blues Brothers? Yep. That one. Abandoned from 1979-2012.
Nothing new on century 3 except there now is a pretty big hole in the ceiling, wide open to the elements. Also we heard they are giving out tickets to anyone who walks through. No more short cuts to get to southland.
In 2024, the mall is being demolished. If these buildings sat abandoned and rotting away, you are not going to have lit parking lots and exterior lighting operational in 2053, let alone have any standing light poles. Before 2053 all the light poles and sign poles will have all been removed because they would all have rusted out and become a safety hazard if they fell down and explorers and vagrants were hanging around there. I like how the sky looked all apocalyptic in the 2053 renderings.
Hopefully it will be torn down soon and new businesses will be built. Can let that land sit like that. West Mifflin is loosing money every day it sits unused.
