I remember a time when Maxx Unlimited was one of the last songs left to be triple A’d - one of the most coveted and greatest accomplishments in dance games - now top players can almost do it in their sleep! These guys are so sick at their craft I don’t know what to do with myself
I shed a tear when they were going down that menu to pick a song. So many memories came back of when I first started playing. I left off on Heavy (8-9 step max). That was about 7 years ago.
The tournament score is based on the EX scoring system, which is 3 points for marvellous/OK, 2 points for perfect and 1 point for great. The letter grade is based on number of greats/goods/boos/misses.
MrxxNightmare same, I've been trying to retrain myself to play flat footed but when the song gets fast i always end up using my toes again without thinking about it 😭
ted cruise You make a good point, I just noticed that these guys play footed and hit the edge of the panels. Then again they have years of experience and are most likely taller than me. I can play most 7's and 8's without a problem. 9's in rare cases. But I'm still learning.
9's on the old scale? you're on a great track. but i'm like 5'7" and i play flat-footed; height shouldn't be a big issue. also, bar or no bar, balance comes with time, and you'll learn to play in the circle. flat-footing absolutely helps your MA though.
For context: The Reflex was a Qualifier at Storm 2018, which meant that everybody who entered the DDR Extreme tournament had to play that song during qualifying, and in turn it got overplayed to the point where it practically became a meme in and of itself. That, and combined with the fact that it is one of, if not THE worst charts in the game, and you can see why it became the meme of the tournament
