Astrophysicist here, can confirm Mercury speaks the truth: Sol will become a red giant and expand to consume Gaia in ~7.5 billion years. In Roman mythology, Mercury (aka Hermes in Greek mythology) was the messenger of the Gods and the swiftest out of all of them. Mercury is the closest planet to the Sun and has the shortest year, hence why she's a messenger in flames. Clever.

Could be wrong, but the song seems to be about Mercury telling Gaia and Venus about their fate being related to the Sun/Sol's death. When the sun starts dying, it means it has run out of Hydrogen from its core to burn off as fuel, so it will start burning off the Hydrogen in its shell instead, rapidly expanding with its luminosity also steadily increasing, this is called the red giant stage of the sun's death. I'll be explaining the relation between the Sun's death and the song: *➢"Light searing the sky":* ⎯When the sun starts expanding, it will "burn off" the Earth's atmosphere, AKA "light searing the sky". *➢"Menacing gaze peering at her scarred face":* ⎯"Scarred face" would be Earth's surface becoming oceans of lava with the atmosphere lost to space, therefore its "scarred". *➢"Breathless yet she remains":* ⎯"Breathless" could mean the loss of the atmosphere, due to it being burnt off by the Sun's death/expansion. *➢"Facing the flames, messenger conveying fate":* ⎯The messenger here is Mercury since in Roman mythology Mercury is the gods' messenger. Mercury is the closest planet to the Sun therefore it is "facing the flames". *➢"Sol will consume, goddess will fall":* ⎯The Sun, in its red giant stage, will consume Mercury, Venus & Gaia/Earth, "goddess" might be Venus in this, she will fall as she's consumed by the Sun's flames. *➢"Fires will scorch Gaia's heart":* ⎯Gaia's heart would be the Earth's core I would assume. *➢"Luna's eclipse":* ⎯Googling the definition of "Eclipse" you'd get something that would be self-explanatory here: "an obscuring of the light from one celestial body by the passage of another between it and the observer or between it and its source of illumination", AKA the Sun's flames will "eclipse" Luna/the moon. *➢"Will not forestall":* ⎯This just means that this is inevitable and cannot be stopped. *➢"Celestial downfall":* ⎯Self-explanatory, the 3 planets: Mercury, Venus and Earth will be in the Sun's flames, while the other planets will most likely not be engulfed. *➢" You cant flee from your fate":* ⎯Mercury/The messenger is telling Venus and Gaia that they cannot escape this destiny. *➢"Nothing will save you from calamitous embrace":* ⎯Nothing can be done to stop Venus and Earth from being swallowed by the Sun's raging flames. *➢"A destiny etched in stone, written and bound":* ⎯This is saying that their destiny is already determined, "Etched in stone" could also mean that it cannot be changed or altered. *➢"Dance your encore with grace":* ⎯Encore would be the repetition of the planetary orbit around the Sun, "Dance your encore" is just Earth's and Venus' Orbit around Sol. *➢"The stars will witness your empyreal ballet":* ⎯Empyreal Ballet is just fancy words for "Celestial Orbit". *➢"Erupt into violent rage, embers and ash remains":* ⎯Sol's eruption into rapid expansion and steady increase of luminosity that will engulf the 3 planets will leave nothing but embers and ash, in Earth's case it will actually leave oceans of lava and metal oxides but I digress. ⎯EDIT I: forgot to mention the artwork, the person in the image (I would assume to be Mercury), is "holding" the 3 planets (evident by the orbit lines around Sol/the Sun), the orange one would be Mercury, pink would be Venus and the blue one with a crescent orbiting it is, of course, Earth. The symbol on her crown (?) is Mercury's symbol ☿, Venus' symbol would of course be ♀, Earth's would be ⊕ and the Sun would be ⊙. Hope this covered it all! Wait, I just realized that the picture Is the the goddess on the solar system with four planets that represent for goddess. Venus:represent the goddess herself , on Greek mythology where Venus is goddess of beauty. Earth:is represent Gaia the goddess of nature on her right hand. Mercury aka Hermes know as the messager of God and the closing planet to sun that make Mercury become the messager in flame. And top of her head is Mars also known as the goddess of wars. May be reading into this too much but here are the references I've noticed. Breathless - refers to mercury having no atmosphere. the lack of atmosphere also explains 'the stars will witness' as they would always be visible, like on the surface of the moon. Luna's eclipse - is likely referring to a solar eclipse where the moon shields the earth from the suns rays. Encore - might be a reference to the unusual day/year cycle, mercury has a day that is two years long and therefore it could be said to 'repeat its performance' every single day. Empyrean - refers to the highest circle of heaven consisting of fire and light, mercury orbits closest to the sun and is exposed to both heat and light more than any other planet. Erupt into violent rage - this may reference the sunrise on mercury, as the frozen nighttime surface is exposed to sunlight its temperature would increase by several hundred degrees causing rapid expansion. Messenger - could refer not only to Hermes/mercury, but also to the space probe MESSENGER which collected valuable readings from mercury. Lastly: this may not be a reference, but 'the empyreal ballet' was a prog rock album from the late 70s, while it seems like a tenuous connection the cover art would be incredibly appropriate to convey mercury's temperature extremes.
