He explained in another comment he made the video because he wanted to, they were just a gift from the company. The paid promotion disclaimer was added later as a correction.
@@prestonsingersoll which, honestly, it should be, cause that still means he got something in return for posting about it. Just because it's not cash doesn't mean it's not an asset
Nah, they're though. I have a set and I accidentally dropped them when I was getting them out of the box. They don't have a single scratch, they're more like marbles you can toss around than porcelain dishes
@@duplicake4054 I forgot how much my keyboard was, but it's a full layout, it's not hot swappable, but sounds good Also I will buy a new keyboard for christmas
> receives free key cap set worth $150 > "they didn't pay me to say this" Edit: stop dragging him for the "Includes paid promotion" box, he only added it after seeing my comment.
Yeah most youtubers dont understand how sponsoring works. RU-vid requires you mark a video with "Sponsored" If you have recieved a product for free or have been paid by them or recieved any kind of benefit.
If you've received a product for free it is not a sponsorship. It's good to disclaim that you did, but it's not a requirement. Payment for a review is sponsorship, different than free items as the free items don't contractually require a review
@@virens_ To be within FTC guidelines, RU-vidrs must disclose who they are working with when they post sponsored content. If RU-vidrs participate in a brand deal, product placement or receive a free gift, they must clearly disclose it to their viewers within the video’s description. Simply including #sp or #partner is not enough. It has to be clear what brand sponsored them and must include specific language to denote the nature of the sponsorship.
Full stop: if you are not being paid/given items to do a specific action, you are not being sponsored. In a case like this video, simply stating that you received an item is fully enough to satisfy FTC requirements. I think you're getting mixed up a bit - if the company said 'I'll send you these free items if you review them' then stricter rules apply. Clearly not the case here.
He explained in another comment that he added that after because he screwed up by saying he wasn't paid by them but received the expensive product for free. Fair play to him for admitting his mistake.
@@AGMTB.but why would he not just leave a stand-alone comment and pin it explaining his mistake? I got shady vibes until I read your comment bc I could imagine myself misunderstanding that a free product given under the terms of posting a review without cash is still considered an ad or sponsorship. probably not if I owned and maintained a youtube channel but still lmao
@@jakobwhaley5641 The "Includes paid promotion" flag is supposed to be included on any video in which the creator was paid OR received products or services for free. He is saying he was not paid money, but only received the product for free. There is a difference. Typically if a creators says they were sponsored it means they were paid on top of product.
Theyer cold even when you have the heat on but you really cant feel it with your fingertips. At least I cant since Im a cook. I cant feel much with my fingertips.
I have a couple sets of these. Expensive as hell. I'll add that they do sound absolutely amazing. I also love that they stay cool to the touch. though because of the weight I don't recommend using them as a primary cap; those with less strength or arthritis in their fingers might have issues; they need a switch and stabilizers that support the weight.
Then use a wired keyboard instead of a wireless one. You have to willingly push a wired keyboard off the edge of your desk with enough force to violently unplug it from your pc, before it has a chance of actually hitting the floor
@@affegpus4195 I was just thinking about that lmao, I have never "knocked my keyboard off my my desk" because the thing is like a slab that you sit on your desk, it has so much surface area I would have to push that bitch with significant force to try and move it
They wont the ceramic is really strong. Also when does a keyboard ever fall off the desk? I dont think i can recall a single time my keyboard has ever fallen. Too heavy to just get brushed off by accident. Damn thing weighs like 4-5lbs.
@@DaBlaccGhost Thats because it's your job. This is for enthusiasts. Also IT people generally work with laptops because they need to remain mobile usually.
i also love how tasteful the actual design is. classic font, no unneccessary branding. no uneccessary anything. just a simple clean design that will work on any keyboard
How do you accidentally knock a 5lbs keyboard off the desk? Theres also a cord. The caps are also much stronger than you would think. Can survive a 6ft drop onto tile.
I'd love to see some speakers with rgb visualizers built into the ears. They won't be great for all kinds of sounds, but for high pitched audio they'd be a perfect addition to a larger pc speaker system
It may look and sound fancy but due to the extra weight they will degrade the key's rebound mechanism(spring if you may) forcing you to replace your keys very often. Good for a showpiece but no practical usability.
@@rocketpadgamer I understand when people use overexaggeration but yours was just way to extreme. The first keyboard is a 60%, aka 60% of a 100% keyboard, and the second is a 75%. Most people don't use 30%+ of the keyboard. How often do you really use your F row. I can understand is working people prefer having a numpad but 90% of people don't consistently spam F keys on a daily except for maybe some MMO's that have 10 thousand keybinds
I have a set of these they are super nice feel good on your finger tips and sound amazing. My only gripe is the lack of indent on the F and J key. Although this doesn’t hinder the performance it would be nice if it was there so you could quickly get back to typing.
@@Andy_ABG what place do you recommend that i should get it from, ive modded my brown switches and i feel like these would sound so great with them. i know people dislike brown switches a lot so what switches do you also recommend that would suit these keycaps. thank you for replying!
@@480s.For the keycaps, you can only really get them from Cerakey directly, or if you get it from a reseller. Regarding the Brown switches, the only reason people hate on them is cause they're advertised as a "Tactile" switch even though there's barely any tactility. If you like em, then you like em! Can't really recommend any switches cause they're all really up to personal preference, but some common options for the 3 Switch Types are Gateron Ink Blacks (Linear), Gazzew Boba U4T/Drop Holy Panda (Tactile), Kailh Box Jades (Clicky). I'd say those are the most Linear, Tactile and Clicky options among the others, but you really have to find a hobbyist store/showroom and watch plenty of videos to dial in your preferences
I like it but I'm not sure I 150$ like it. Also, realistic question, if the average keyboard is not made to handle that much weight per key, isn't there a chance this would cause excessive/accidental actuation on the keys? I'm also curious about the wear/lifespan of them. As someone who upgrades his keyboard every 3-4 years due to wear, is there any added durability?
The spacebar needs a 60g spring which they include two switches with your order that will support it. They should be more durable than regular caps are. Possible the lettering could fade over time but if you get good at touch typing you wont need lettering anymore anyways. Or if youre already good just order blank keys. I bought mine for under $100 too.
To be fair you don't need that much when it comes to the functionality of a keyboard, most membrane and non customizable mechanical keyboards do the job just fine. The keyboard hobby is obviously more about the sound and looks, with little things that might better the ergonomics and functionality by a little but not very significantly. It's like with cars. Does a sports car work significantly better than one that costs $50k? probably not, but does it feel freaking awesome to drive and show it off? Absolutely.
No you wont. You have to be trying to break them and even then you probably wont succeed. Even if they fell on concrete from a box while moving you wouldnt break them. I dropped one from 6ft and it wasnt even scratched.
@@CanadaDoesntExist They're great. Super thocky sounding. Really smooth feeling under your fingers. Id say the only downside is the tolerances can be off sometimes and lead to keys clinking together. Cerakey will replace any keys that are not right if that happens. My set is great though. I think they solved that issue with the stem inserts for the most part.
Modern acoustic piano (with physical cords) keys are made from plastic and wood now. Historically the white and black keys were made from Ivory tusks and Ebony wood, respectively.
I switched over to ceramic keys and I can’t see myself going back now. Another kinda nice side effect is the keys are kinda cool to the touch when you first start typing for the day. It feels quite soothing
All these children on here who arent the least bit embarrassed to admit they throw tantrums over games and destroy their shit. I use to do this shit when i was 6 playing games but now Im an adult and just turn the game off if I get mad.
@@nexus02496 But the sound of a keyboard adds nothing. I've never once considered how a keyboard sounds when buying one. Is not the form and function of a keyboard far more important than how it happens to sound?
@@matthewblomquist6090 Same can be said of a car that costs millions of dollars. It looks cool but basically functions the same as any other car. Also the same with expensive watches. Looks cool but still just tells the time like any other watch. This is the nature of enthusiast hobbies. At least I dont have to spend thousands to enjoy my hobby. I also dont buy a keyboard for how it sounds. I first buy a keyboard that is hotswap, south facing LEDs, moddable, and has good RGB features. After that I get good switches that sound and feel good, lube them and then mod the case with sound dampening material. It is after that that I bought ceramic caps to finish the build. But yeah you dont buy a keyboard for its sound. You start with the function and add to it from there. But the real function of a keyboard is to type which literally any keyboard can do but most people dont use just any keyboard from the bottom of the barrel.
doing a sponsorship requires an agreement beforehand. They sent the keycaps without the promise of a review/video. Companies do this a lot and it isn't considered a sponsorship because the creator talks about it by their own choice. Not by agreement.
I got a set of these and I have stopped using all my GMK sets since then. Plastic sounds like shit to me now. make sure to use 65g springs or heavier. Would recommend over any GMK set unless a colour option is specifically what you are after.
they are personally not my favourite kind of switches and i only ever had 1 video where i built my mom her custom keyboard with silent switches. that video is somewhere on my channel
@@Gio98artI don't have any videos but I do have a couple silent switch suggestions you could watch videos on which are pretty cheap: Akko Fairy/Penguin Switches ($14USD per 45) - Fairy is silent linear - Penguin is silent tactile WS Silent Linear/Tactile ($14.70USD per 35) Note: does not include shipping costs I am still a beginner when it comes to mechanical keyboards, I'm just suggesting stuff that I bought that were pretty good, there may be some better ones out there if you do a bit of digging
Idk it probably sounds nice to them? Why do ppl care how anything sounds? Also apparently ppl tend to type faster on mechanical keyboards bc of the sound feedback.
Whenever I hear the keyboard... It brings back the memory when there was always some kid in game lobby with dogshit mic which picked up every single fucking noise, you didn't hear anything else move but when the guy moved you were sure as shit
