The camera observes closely how Alexandra Engelfriet molds pieces of clay into an object of art. The video is shot in her studio in France. Extra: 6 sculptures made by Alexandra Engelfriet in 2006
so fortunate for me to have stumbled onto this - lovely spaciousness in an austere studio, they feel quiet and inviting - thank you alexandria ! miestras indeed !
it all depends on what kind of clay your using, this type of stoneware clay is fired up in the 1 thousands in which you need kilns, ovens won't do unless you get a sculpy specifically for baking in the home ovens
It depends on the clay, not what you are making. Most clay used to make ceramics (like the one she was using) need to be fired at over 2-thousand degrees can't be done in a normal oven. You can't just get any clay either. Make sure you buy clay that is meant to be fired. Since you want to do it in a normal oven, research different 'low-temperature firing' clays. Also make sure that you don't pre-heat the oven when firing. Put the clay in before it heats up. That might be why it's cracking.
Cordialement, Christine
