I was born with CP on my left side. I was able to work full time until 49. I had physically demanding jobs, but started having more problems with my good side. I am glad that I am married and have kids, and I worked hard for as long as I could or else, I would feel like a failure right now. I Thank God for all the blessings that I have had!
fascinating! as someone with all 3 forms of cerebral palsy, balance issues and sound sensitivity are among the worst aspects. i still wonder what exactly causes these? my neurologists thought mine was either from viral sepsis from chicken pox at 6 weeks old or possibly it's actually kernicterus.
I was born with cp and I have the on the affects my legs and I am 12 years old and I am a attractive young girl but I am very insecure about my cp and I sometimes do find my self crying because I can't be normal like other young girls my age now I am not saying you should be ashamed or insecure like me because there is no cure so its kind of just something you have to live with for the rest of your life and I I did wear braces for my legs and night time braces for my legs but the older I got the more the insecurity grew so I stopped wearing them and I did used to go to physical therapy but I stopped and my affected my eye sight I used to wear glasses because I had far distance problems with my eyes but yeah xxxxxx sincerely Suellen.❤❤❤❤❤
I got diagnosed with Cerebral Palsy when I was a toddler for me it's only mild but I can't walk in a straight line or stand still without feeling like I am going to fall over and recently I've been twitching a lot and am worried I might have a seizure 1 day
Since I do have mild cerebral palsy do I have spastic? I guess you could say it's just my fingers or both my hands lack muscle coordination I mean when I go to the gym I could lift between 10 lb all the way to 50 sometimes 55 but other than that
My son has only in his hand . He has pvl . Small spot on one side . The neurologist told us that best case scenario he could have ADHD, or worst case he could have a hand leg or foot. That’s affected a little bit. We have taken him to therapy from the very beginning, and it seems to be working very well well. I just have some questions for you if that is OK.
I have the type of cerebral palsy that affects my legs. I can still walk, but as I get older (Late 20’s), I can now barely stand for more than an hour without feeling extreme pain in one or both of my legs. I don’t know how common this is, but it concerns me.

@@CpMotherWorld That's great, Hope she will be improved soon. My daughter is 4.5 yrs old and facing some issues with walking, she needs support for walking. Pediatrician diagnosed as ataxic cerebral...Just started Physio and OT suggested by GP. What is your recommendation for that
I have it on my entire left side arm and leg I have a twin brother he doesn’t have it at all we’re 35 I can say the pain didn’t start until I hit like 31 I’ve had a pretty normal life other then me being limited to what I can do because of the cerebral palsy I have a son who’s 3 he doesn’t have it at all it’s been a long journey however I’m making it and you will as well
44 year old with cp on my right side here. I’m lucky as far as the intensity I have. Things they don’t tell you long term. Stay physically active because your muscles and tendons tighten up over time. Sometimes you walk like you’re drunk if you sit too long or something. I had a police officer that thought I was completely drunk. I told him I had CP and he gave me a breathalyzer I passed of course, but he treated me like dirt the whole time. Another time one policeman actually had brought me to the jail because he said my lisp proved, I was drunk, even though I passed the breathalyzer. If you fall or something, you don’t realize you’re hurt and you have to do body checks. A couple times I walked around a half a day with dislocated fingers and didn’t know it. Or cuts that actually need stitches. Bed sores happen a lot too because you don’t feel like you need to turn around at night. Sleeping on my right side feels like I’m sleeping on a cloud. I get mood swings a lot too. Calm one second really angry the next. Depression sets in a lot too. Any kind of medicine you’ll have an overreaction to. Like NyQuil will feel like Codeine to me. And when people realize you have CP, they treat you like you have down syndrome. I am happy and I know I’m lucky but there are day-to-day struggles in life that someone without it will never understand.
@@zeenatsanaomari7793 future is always bright. I wish the internet was around when I was younger to share knowledge. Swimming helped a lot to relearn all the nerves exc. My doctors told me (my parents) that I’d never walk without a cane. Never ride a bike. Never drive. Today I drive a stick shift. I ride on my unicycle around the park. Never let anyone tell you what you can and can’t do! In my head I always say “ challenge accepted”.
