I love how controlled and almost choreographed the stage diving is. I grew up in the 80s hardcore scene and it was a lot more chaotic my first stage dive was at Circle Jerks and 7 seconds in 89 at the Metroplex in Atlanta. I'm a old Geezer but I love this band and these kids keeping it alive and evolving.
If you don't believe how Ceremony gave impacted so many people - and the scene - in general in decade, you are living under a rock. I can get how some people won't find the new stuff interesting, but at least watch from He-god-Has Favored Our Undertakings (8:58) and until the rest of the set. Gives me literal goosebumps.
All their stuff is great, Zoo is my personal favorite. The newer stuff is great and I’m glad they made it so we can listen to it. Judging from this set list and most of the others it seems they still play a lot of their older shit which is neat.
haha! then this decade sucks. God I miss the last millenium! Listen to Poison Idea, Discharge, Minor Threat, Bad Brains, Totalitar, Born Against, Dropdead, etc. instead of this crap! The kids are NOT alright! This is sing-song bullshit.
i think your mixing up some bands wit the scene you see. i get minor threat and bad brains but bands like Discharge and even Born against my punk friends was more into them but not so much into gorillia biscuit or cro mags or specially Judge or sick of it all or youth of today or h2o. those bands influenced the sound you see in Ceremony or Bane or Have heart! you can actually see the Dead kennedys in them lol
what a set, amazing... even the speech was awesome, I see some people getting a bit insecure about it in the comment but that's what punk music has always been about, tbh it made them even more awesome for me
Goosebumps from the first couple of the songs haha, beautiful classic ceremony Rosses vioce kinda grew weaker though. Well the aging process is a bitch Ceremony's live vids are more interesting than blockbuster movies. Also thanks for the humanistic message my friends
The voice is definitely going to go, he probably has polyps like most singers who have to sing like him. I'm also surprised Ross doesn't have some busted teeth or broken any bones. I've been witness to many crazy things he and the crowd have done at their early shows I saw back in the 2000's. Truly one of the greats of hardcore of all time.
Wait...ceremony the punk/hardcore band? This is the same band of A new one? Then again the punk songs remind me of the dead kemmedys and I dig it. They just sound very different from 2007
This is badass punk rock at heart but the guitarists comment about there being "very strong misogyny here" wtf why. Cos people were slam dancing? It's not like women don't mosh too. If there's one scene to berate for having a misogynist boys club attitude punk would be last on the list.
