What I don't understand is this is caused by weakness in the muscles & it's treated by exercise basically. I was a body builder in my 20s & I am stronger than most. I'm 42 now & while I'm nowhere near as strong as I was 15 years ago, I still try to workout when I can & yes... I have sat in a chair a lot over the past 10 years but there's no way I can be weaker than people who are sitting in a chair for the past 20-30 years & they don't have these problems. What gives? I was diagnosed with Dysautonomia 12 years ago so I'm always stretching or doing traction on my back & sleeping certain ways etc which according to these videos are the exact way I should be to rid myself of cervical radiculopathy but I've actually GOTTEN it while doing these exercises! So I'm confused... If I keep doing what the Drs tell me & the videos say.... How can it get better if it's only gotten worse? My theory is that my Dysautonomia is generating my nerves & rejecting the therapy. It's such a little understood disease. I've spent 12 years educating myself on my disease + a sports medicine/nutrition degree. I remain a medical mystery.

you are the best! I have many issues , scoliosis, herniates discs -3 cervical- , cervical stricture and few more... I was crying because it has been 6 months, I feel like my life is over at 32... But this channel gave me hope... I couldn't work for 7 months because of pain and I started to think maybe there is no point to live at all. After seeing these I see hope even a little... thank you 😭

Bad neck pain, for over 2 years tried many different options. Chiropractor dry needle, physical therapy all kinds of over-the-counter roll-on medications. It's my neck. Very painful when I move it side to side and when I walk on the treadmill the muscles in the back of my neck feel like bricks... I constantly put a heating pack alternating with an ice pack on my neck for hoping to get some relief.... Do you have any suggestions? Thank you

have you tried massaging neck muscles? or finding a way to relax those muscles? I have issues with tensed neck muscles as well, I have noticed its hard to do exercises to build neck muscles if they are all tensed up. Find how you can relax them and then try.@@colleentellier6088

Hes suggesting push ups anf neck exercises, both will further irritate the compressed nerve.
@imrantahir1687
@imrantahir1687 11 месяцев назад
@@haha-yi8qi Thanks for the reply. This is way too general of a statement. Yes, of course for some people it can irritate more, and for others (or most) it will help. That's how it always works :) what matters is how clear his information is, and how he has sequenced it. both are pretty good. He (or anyone) cannot cure "all people" and of course, this cannot be an alternate to "medical advice". the spinal anatomy is complicated and pinched nerve symptoms, causes vary a lot. I think his exercise will suit most but of course not all.
@Raphael-vr5pl
@Raphael-vr5pl Месяц назад
He makes it clear in the video that if certain exercises agitate it then modify it. You can do wall pushups instead. Isometrics should not aggravate the pinched nerve if done properly. Go read my comment up above about the noodle method in the pool, that is the QUICKEST way I got rid of a 2 year pinched nerve after the military. I do this daily now and have avoided neck surgery for 10 years. Peace! @@haha-yi8qi

🎯 Key Takeaways for quick navigation: 00:00 📚 Cervical radiculopathy, also known as a pinched nerve in the neck, can cause numbness, weakness, and pain in the arms and hands due to issues in the neck area. 01:39 ⚠️ Symptoms of cervical radiculopathy can vary in intensity, and pain or sensory changes might occur in unexpected areas, like the scapular or rhomboid region. 02:49 🩺 Natural history of cervical radiculopathy often leads to improvement regardless of treatment, and abnormalities on imaging aren't necessarily indicative of symptoms. 04:12 🛌 Lifestyle factors such as sleep quality, stress, posture, and physical activity play a role in managing cervical radiculopathy alongside exercises. 07:28 💪 Isometric exercises and resistance training can help restore strength and range of motion, while addressing factors like sleep and stress is important for symptom management. I had a very painful pinched nerve on my left side since I was a teenager, exactly how you described it. Went to doctors, specialists - everything. Nothing worked. When I was in my 20s someone suggested a chiropractor. After two or three treatments, the pain completely disappeared, my arm wasn't number or shaking. It was amazing. After the first treatment, I slept for about 10 hours. The pain never came back but I continued chiropractic for a few months.

I do get some relief with exercises but not 100%. Your exercises are new to me n will try them. A family member had this surgery n complains of swallowing issues. Also some comments from other surgery patients say don’t do it! I’m over 70 n terrified. I cannot take that risk living alone.

This will be a great addition to some of the PT exercises I have been doing. With chronic degenerative cervical arthrosis more persistently pinching the nerve-. Are there activities or exercises that should be limited or managed to avoid triggering cervical pain, such as lifting weights? I am sure ergonomics & static positions while working in hospital based medical ultrasound for many years is a constant trigger or component contributing to discomfort. Activity definitely helps resolve symptoms.

I have two degenerative discs in my neck and two bone spurs that have caused me a great deal of pain for over 20 years. One doctor I had insisted the only way I was going to get better was through surgery. Uh no thank you! I had started doing yoga about three years ago for sciatica and in doing that, I have found that over the years, my neck pain has gotten better and rarely do I wake up in agony. Yoga is a daily routine and a lot of the exercises you showed here have been incorporated in the classes I do. You have shown a few I've not done before, however. As a 68 year old I had this associated with c8 nerve root. I had pain in shoulder front and back down arm affecting small and ring finger. Pain in actual neck was just sore when palpated .Took anti inflammatory and cocodamol which had minimal effect on the pain for 10 days . Eventually added in a muscle relaxant which helped. The pain was excruciating hence exercise would be a no no. Discovered nerve gliders for radius medial and ulnar nerves which I find helps. Pain probably about 40% improvement this week thankfully. Not something I would want to suffer from again. Hopefully I will continue to improve as I have not been back to gym since which I miss. Meantime I will try some home exercise this week.

What these videos often don't tell is there is degenerative or hard herniated disc, and non-degenerative or soft herniated disc. The first one is unlikely to get better on itself. Also, you don't really choose when you wake up, since the pain wakes you up in the middle of the night, repeatedly. That being said, your video is very helpful. Thank you !

I assume you mean "bulging" disc vs Herniated disc? or the fibrous ring vs nucleus pulposus? . (the hard and soft terms aren't really used in the medical literature) . Many people and actually many medical professionals Used to think the herniated discs with protrusions do not heal at their own but the latest research shows they actually do and interestingly the size of the protrusion is directly proportional to their chances and time-line of recovery. the bigger the protrusion, the higher the chances of its natural recovery (absorption).

Amazing timing, I’m definitely going to be using these exercises as part of my recovery process. My left rhomboid has been underdeveloped my entire life. Just recently my physio did a neck adjustment that immediately descended my scapula, which confirmed to me it wasn’t a genetic issue but simply a nerve being pinched, allowing me to activate the muscle to actually do its job. I’m glad I can finally put a name to what this condition is. I’m looking forward to finally having a symmetrical back after all these years of going to the gym and having to compensate with other muscles to lift weights resulting in an uneven physique. Cheers!

If your outside shoulder muscle is burning/painful and some tingling numbness in thumb and index + middle finger and pain on rear of shoulder then its most likely your radial nerve. Pain worsens when sitting at a desk or driving. Have experienced this agonising pain for the last 10 days. Went to physio and she tried to massage the radial passage. Try muscle relaxants in evening once home if pain is too intense or anti inflammatory tablets may possibly help even though its a nerve. The pain worsens in the evening due to temperature change etc. Try some heat therapy with a hot bean bag in microwave to elongate the muscles. Going to try some simple radial nerve stretches after this pain subsides to floss the nerve and hopefully be pain free soon to get back to a normal day and sports activity. Hope this helps anyone out there experiencing these symptoms.

I have been having a problem for a while now where I get these sharp pains that shoot through my lateral (outside) and the knee cap. For example on my left leg the pain would be in the little groove to the left of the knee cap when the leg is bent and shoots a couple centre metres down to the top of my shin on the outside. This pain only seems to occur if i try to spread my knees away from one another like if i sit down and bring my knees up with my feet flat on the ground and try to move both legs away from each other, when I get to about outside my frame I get this shooting knee pain and I seem to compensate by rounding my low back alot, which lessens the pain. I sprint and play football and this problem hinders my ability to get wide and get a low wide base essential for cutting. I have tried many physios but they cant seem to help me, and if seen a trigger point therapist who has released either my it band or the outside quad and it seemed to help alot but only for about 20 mins before it got tight again from sitting. It defintly has something to do with the IT band and I have been stretching the outside quad which has helped but I cant stretch it everytime before football and sprinting as it makes me slower. Any help would be great. I am 18 years old and have made great improvements in my once non existent interal rotation and have created my arch back in my feet (which many people told me was not possible), but this is one problem I cant seem to figure out. P.S.- I used to sit alot as a child so I have been working to fix my body as the sitting has caused me to be less athletic then I should be.
