As an old head (Started in 94 and still semi active) He’s 100% right in the opening. I’ve been doing this shit damn near 30 years. I ain’t fuckin runnin no more. So the risk vs reward thoughts are always there. I’m not out bombin them streets, but you might catch me out there hitting mops or oneliners. It’s an addiction I’ve never been able to overcome. Been to jail, watched my best friend get hit by a train, lost relationships, lost money, been hospitalized, and here I am…..still fuckin out there. Lol
Ces,spitting life lessons. speaking from knowledge and wisdom. I wish more people can hear this. Graffiti is truly a young mans game, when you are irresponsible and life has'nt become real for you yet. Real meaning, paying bills, keeping a steady income, a roof over your head, groceries, now add wife and kids in the mix and thats real life. Some dudes over 35 haven't figure this out yet and still try to run through the brick wall.
I was hanging pics of this guy's pieces on my bedroom wall in the 90s. Love seeing what he's achieved in his graff/art career. One of the best ever. Props.
CES is a legend in our culture. Sat and got tattooed by him a couple times at Tuff City, the guy is humble, down to earth, has an eclectic and great taste in music, just an overall class act. And hes got stories on top of stories. Also got a matted and framed 1/1 full color 8.5x11 painting when it was done, glad to have that in the collection for sure. Great interview!
CES deffo the peoples champ🥊 still got millions of hard copies of his work pre 9/11 old New York - pre internet explosion disposable camera and all- CES gave the world style- he’s deserves his crown and bottom line “NUFF RESPECT DIE” 👈🏻💨
He did a throw-up in my graffiti black book back in the day in high school. I can't remember if it was 181 or Springfield Gardens circa 1986-87, maybe it was 231 Junior High 83-84, so long ago can't be positive...... Pretty sure he was wearing a black Adidas suit and white Kangol and clear CAZALS - we sat in the bleachers and I went over to him my buddy introduced us.... wish I still had that book. They always got stolen BITD....
