What are we talking about? Texas is 7-1 overall and 3-1 in the SEC. Not one team in the Top 5 (Nay, top 25) has just outright destroyed everyone in their schedule. Just stop it. Georgia is the pinnacle of the SEC, do we forget Kentucky? Like every calm down Texas is fine.
Say what you want but at the time the games were played Texas did beat a ranked Michigan, Oklahoma, and Vanderbilt. Texas did throw up a clunker against Georgia and the second half of that game was much more respectable than the first half but to say they beat no ranked teams is pretty ignorant.
@ you misunderstand the point, if the rankings at the time don’t matter now then the AP and the coaches polls wouldn’t have Texas where they do today #6. So even though none of the teams Texas played save Georgia are still ranked it still matters where they were ranked now. Texas is still a good not great team but if Ewers can get back to where he was before the injury then the totality of the team is altered for the better.
@ if you’re acting like the AP poll means anything then you are sadly mistaken (there are tons of overrated teams). None of what you said explains why a win against a bad team who used to be ranked means anything. I agree that Texas is a good team, but the truth remains that they haven’t beaten anyone good. Until they prove themselves there will always be questions.
@ the main point is saying they haven’t beaten a ranked team is ignorant they are 3-1 against ranked teams this year. If you want to say those teams were overrated then fine but they were still ranked at the time the game was played and that’s how the committee will view it being at that time. Here in about a week the committee will also agree and have Texas most likely 5 or 6 possibly even higher given PSU and tOSU play this weekend while they are on a bye may move them up higher. 🤷♂️
@ you don’t understand what the word ignorant means. It’s literally the opposite to say they haven’t beaten any ranked teams. That’s using your brain to consider that they teams they beat shouldn’t have been ranked. Again rankings don’t matter until you beat some one. Y’all have to go through A&M so this will solve itself.
Texas alumn and lifetime fan here... This year’s team is overrated. I have watched every single snap, rather than just seeing scores or highlights or listening to pundits. The squad is incredibly sloppy and undisciplined. Lots of dumb penalties and bad judgment. They don’t play with enough urgency either. Ewers can’t throw downfield and isn’t a threat to run. The O line is Swiss cheese. Special teams are playing at a low level. The Longhorns have played one very good team this season, and they got waxed. They’ll lose to Arkansas and A&M, going 9-3 and ending up in the Alamo Bowl.
I hate to say it but there’s truth here. We recruit and have done an awesome job with the portal, so we have gobs of talent, but it’s not in harmony. We are getting by on sheer size, strength, and speed. Georgia is what coordination looks like. I fear A&M may be the same.
Lol. This is what was said about Georgia before playing Texas. Let’s see how Texas does after the bye week and giving Ewers an extra week to heal. It took him a few games last year as well to recover before his huge game against OkSt
Everyone acts like Texas has been in the SEC forever. 1st year in, and it's a LEARNING EXPERIENCE. If Texas was in the Big 12, still....I would agree. But, this take is u educated. Texas controls it's own destiny. And BTW.......if the SEC and its games are Always Tough.......then explain this stance.
Horns win over Michigan will be huge for a CFP berth if we end up with 2 loses. Tiebreaker over all of the other ridiculous cup cake non conference schedules like Ohio St. Even though the Wolverines have struggled, they were still top 10 at the time. 100% if they had Clemson’s schedule, they would have only 1 loss and ranked in the top 10.
Texas needs to win out and show everyone. They got held back by the refs in that Vanderbilt game. If you watched the game, you would see how bad the calls were and on explosive plays. It's getting like the NFL.
ridiculous that the SEC and Big10 are given four spots. Terrible for the rest of the world. A real shame that ESPN and money control the fun of college football.
With quinn we don't deserve to be in the playoff. Pretty sure you'll need a quarterback that can throw an accurate ball past 10 yards if you want to have any shot at the championship
@JoseMartinez-fi7xv he had rust from being injured and was still worried about tearing stomach muscles. His o-line wasn't helping with keeping him upright for the Georgia game.
@@RandomNamejagddjxuossnbarely beat Vandy. And we see Bama is not superhuman this season. Honestly any ranked team can beat any other if things go a certain way. Plenty of upsets already this season.
@@michaelh7770 Win is a win. Georgia "barely" beat Kentucky and they were unranked. Texas beat a ranked opponent in their home, which Alabama just lost to.
