Passed my CFI checkride today on the first try. Thank you for doing this, and all of your videos for that matter. I’ve used your videos for all of my checkrides and they’ve helped significantly. Thanks
Jon I just started studying for CFI last week. I had a long drive today so I listened to the two videos on the trip. Very well done. Keep it up. I will probably listen several times before my oral. Thanks!
Not boring as you implied. I am not a CFI candidate but still found this informative and educational. Thanks to both of you for your efforts to help educate others.
You mention clicking the links below to download and print the PDF to follow along. However the link only takes you to the videos and no PDF.....Am I missing something?
I'm having the same problem. I clicked on the link in the description, entered my name and email but then it just took me to a page with all the videos but no cheat sheets.
Oh wow, found it. On that Lufthansa site, there's a very nondescript link underneath the second and fourth videos labeled "CFI Oral Part 2 and 3" and "CFI Oral Part 4 and 5"
I guess it would've been good to put that disclaimer on there. Jon is overstating the answers but for the purposes of an informational session rather than a mock oral exam it is super useful. My instructor got on my case for talking about 50nm cross country endorsements + practical.
is this really the case for CFI checkride? the idea is that you teach the student, break it down, and give them all the necessary info right? I don't imagine only teaching the students a basic level is all that great if they have the capacity to be taught more.
@@unclesam326we get that but for the sake of the checkride and to that a hole isn’t goin got get dug….. lets just answer what they need to hear then we can go more in depth with our students and all that good stuff. If you are doing it the way you say the checkride would be 3 days long
At age 61 I started flying again about two years ago. I did obtain my third class medical under SI, which stands for special issuance. Due to the fact that I am on blood pressure and type two diabetes medication, non-insulin. I have to get my physical, which puts a one year limitation on it. For the following year I have to go to my primary care provider who will document how well I’m responding to the medication and that my labs look good. I also have to go to the eye doctor and that I do not have diabetic eye disease. The second year of the third class does not require a physical but the same documentation has to be shown to my AME. A letter was issued by the FSDO that my local AME can provide this type of third class medical up for six years, (three issuances of a third class). After that time a new review at the FSDO has to be issued. In the letter, it states the limitation at which point a medical disqualification would happen. Issues like A1C being above 9.0 or changes in medication that is listed on the no-fly medication list.

I hope this works, the “links” are what look like labels at the airline website. One says CFI Oral 1 and 2 the other is further down and is the same except it is 3 and 4. I had just thought they were there to identify the video contents
@@riccixjean I passed! I had the oral and flight on different days. Had to cancel the flight once due to weather, but finally got up there and passed! 😁
In that example, the 15-year-old could pass his private pilot and his commercial pilot certification, but will not be issued a certificate his private pilot until he is 17 years old and he will not be issued his commercial pilot I believe until he’s 21 years old. I may be wrong on the commercial.
What aids are typically allowed on the Oral? I see you have an iPad that you frequently seem to be reading from. Am I able to use my notes during the oral? Thanks.
Hi Aaron! The rest of the videos are available as part of our CFI courses. Check out our subscription options below! learn.fly8ma.com/subscription-options/
