@@raineob4996 well if your going down, seems better to tuck the ball in than try a pass which is going to fail (more likley by OB or incomplete instead of intercepted/TD). No matter, in my opinion it was hilarious and I couldn't help but laugh for a while afterwards. More about this QB silly mistake, not the sport/league ok?
I remember the evil empire, I remember the cheating and hiding players on taxi squads and hating them for winning 5 straight grey cup games, and as much as it delights me to see this downfall, I hope they start winning SOME games! We need all teams a certain amount of success so the league continues! I love this league and want it to become a 10 team league!
This is my first year really following the league. I don't want the CFL to fold. I have been going to games and it is a good time. Wait until we start winning.
@@virnan CFL won't fold, if it does the big market teams (Edmonton, Toronto, BC, probably Ottawa too) will be absorbed into the XFL, which like no one wants to happen. The league is like a malignant tumor, it's been on death's door for 40 or so years and continues to exist.

Steinauer is NOT a good coach. Offensive coordinator Tommy Condell is the strength of this coaching staff...I remember last year vs Ottawa, when Hamilton scored late and should have gone for the 2 point convert to put themselves up by 3, but instead kicked the convert for a meaningless point... and I'm like, 'What the hell are you doing Steinauer?' Ottawa tried a long, last second, field goal and BARELY missed... Otherwise Hamilton loses, and that lost would have been ALL on the head coach... For years, Hamilton has been, pretty much, the ONLY CFL team that leaves their starting QB in , for third and short situations, which is PATENTLY DUMB... Give him a raise? Are you kidding me? Give him a Bus Ticket and send him out of town... BUT , whatever you do... Keep Tommy Condell... Not that he would be out of work long, come what may...
While watching the Winnipeg/Ottawa game, I found myself wondering if Dustin Crum was going to be able to survive the rest of the season. Now I find my self wondering the same thing about the play by play announcer working this game. He's an excitable boy.

It's crazy the amount of everyday people you talk to who are basking in the downfall of the team. Lots of people are vocal about no longer going to games or following the CFL. The comments on places like the Edmonton Sun or Edmonton Journal have not let up. I anticipate them to announce financial troubles sooner rather than later.
So far the name change has meant nothing to the teams play, because names don't mean anything to professionals play. Why is it you man babies try to make up excuses? A bad team is a bad team, and this bad team needs to do something about their coaching.

I don't think so. There are other bad teams in the league, and some bad coaches, and some intriguingly bad combinations of bad teams with bad coaches. Eventually Edmonton will play one of those and accidently win the game. Jones will get a reprieve and Edmonton fans will be able to seize a little hope...lower case "h", by the way. A wee bit of hope.
It seems like every game the Elks are in a position to win and then they blow it. 6-0 and 13-10 leads in this game and lost 37-29. 11-3 lead against Saskatchewan in the previous game and lost 12-11.
Exactly. If there's no accountability then there's no culture that can be built, except a losing one. I've just started following Sask again since they rid themselves of Jones and Fajardo; now EDM is stuck with a terrible coach, GM, QB, and team name.

They missed the FG Edmonton did to get a Kickoff apparently to try an get it an onside kick for a chance to tie the game. Edmonton failed but worth mentioning.
Second. The Edmonton defense seems to be playing to injure. Late QB hits with the penalties that go with, taking the QB to the ground and landing with full body weight...more than once...and number 45 ejected for multiple major penalties. So, Elks, if you can't beat them on the scoreboard, send them to injury reserve. Disgusting.
Why is there not more of an outcry from local fans and local media to demand change? Edmonton could have had a real chance to win this game if not for horrible coaching!!! If I was Jones, I'd fire myself! This is getting so pathetic that it's painful. It's like driving by a horrible car accident. You don't really want to look, but you can't help yourself.
Bad everything. Even on their final TD - just watch the QB. Instead of standing and firing the ball in, he's falling away despite being under no pressure. Just bad fundamentals on this team, and I don't foresee an imminent end to this losing streak

People loved the Eskimos and their winning tradition. Owners of this team erased a legendary history. Now they are just the loser Elks that no other team or fan takes seriously
