The fun about American s watching you have luxury of not buying tickets,,sit back, and objectively watching another North American football game. Almost like a version of having European soccer, you don’t always have to watch , but do when in the mood. That’s how I watch NFL without pulling hair out, both games,,good. But I’m Canadian , a diehard GreyCup fan. And let me tell you I have seen plenty good ones, I’m 63, grey cup week is fun. I don’t have favorite team but do feel for the underdog. I just want to see a good game, even if my chosen team lost. It is a huge football field I just noticed myself. But this game was a thriller. I’m going to watch Super Bowl, I like NFL, but too much football for me, but it’s kinda nice to watch too league s across the border. Most of those boys playing inCFL are American. Canada doesn’t have enough collegiate athletes like U. S. But it’s nice to see them develope, and maybe go NFL. That’s their dream, I as a Canadian appreciate that. So it’s big brother and little brother, both benefit each other. NFL gives boys at shot at big time. CFL provides jobs and experience for the youngsters. And both teams are steeped in tradition. From years past. I’m not a fan of XFL they wanted to merge with CFL. No way, I like my three down. If that happens I won’t watch. But anyway thanks for imput
It’s hard to turn away from your own brand. I’m Canadian. Raised on CFL so I’m prejudiced. I don’t mind NFL , but I am a three down person. CFL is a harder game. Because you don’t have a lot of chances. But understand American s love for their game, and I have seen great game, but it’s to slow for me, I l like back and forth, love the gamble risks, unpredictability. But thanks for imput. It’s ok to like both leagues. They are really not that much different, a few rules and down s. I don’t like the giving out points in CFL, I think unfair. Could jeopardize a teams win. Take out the points and fight to the finish
@@rogerclemmons8652 Yes it was. It sold out a few weeks ago. Any empty seats are sold but some people may have not showed up because Sask. wasn't in it.
Despite all the accolades last Year in Hamilton Bombers were 5 yes away from Regulation loss. Karma finally nipped them in Regina! ARGOS were full measure in a gutty, never say die win!
52 yrs old... been watching the CFL as long as I can remember.... the Grey Cup is as much a part of my holiday calendar as Thanksgiving or Christmas. All hail the fast moving, high flying, wide open brand of football that is the CFL! I'd love to see a team on the East Coast to balance the conferences, but I'll be cheering on this league for the rest of my life. Great game!
Thought that Toronto had blown it after the face mask penalty on the sack. Wasn't expecting another blocked field goal. Don't recall ever seeing two in a row especially in a Grey Cup game.
Riders fan here. WINNIPEG SHALL NOT WIN IN OUR HOUSE. Seriously though Winnipeg and Toronto played an enterntaining game that made me lose my mind in disbelief so many times. Congrats to the Argos and all the former Riders on that squad
As disappointed as I am as a Bombers' fan, Toronto's defence played incredibly well and because of that, the Argos deserved this win. Neither starting QB really did much, but props to Chad Kelly for coming in cold and making what I consider to be the key play in this game, running the ball and setting up the deciding TD. I'm really happy for Argos fans...I wish there were more of you, but pulling off the upset is a great thing for you and your city, so enjoy yourselves! And hopefully this win shows your moronic management group that football IS working in Toronto and gets them to stop demanding ridiculous changes to the game (like merging with the XFL or going to 4 downs). Seriously...Toronto deserves MUCH better representation in our _other_ national sport, and basically all of the Argos fans I've met are in 100% agreement with me on this. MLSE needs to sell...or shut up, because they have lost the plot, and are fighting against a proud culture they'll never infect, or otherwise change.
Divide smith the giant. But don’t underage Winnipeg still a great team. It just boils down to one game. Even if they had won all season games. This day matters most. So you never know who is going to get to the mountain. Anybody’s game that day.Thank god no blowouts, I fear that every year! Congratulations to Argos their fans, it was a better year in terms of suspenseful finishes, 61 percent of games were close or last minute finishes. No I want three down to stay.
American here that watches the CFL from time to time. The blocked field goal was a heroic cup saving play for Toronto. They blew it on the penalty and needed a miracle to prevent OT on a miss or a game winning kick. Incredible game. That same goofy CFL rule 1 point for kicked balls thru the end zone that could have allowed the Blue Bombers to at least tie it, worked in favor for Toronto earlier in the game. Fair both ways. Interesting rule. Who would've thought that'd be the difference maker in the final score. I really like the wide open, high flying style of the CFL. Cool stuff.
I don’t like that point either, don’t make sense take that out. If ya can’t get out so what! Fight. That stupid point makes a difference. CFL should try it without giving a point. Fight wto the finish. Otherwise it’s a fun game
As a Rider fan in Regina, it's amazing to see a lot of people compliment how great the Grey Cup was at Mosaic. Congrats to the Argos, you played hard in that last quarter
@@garygagnon5057 They do get to the Grey Cup a fair bit though, but can't seem to win. Had to look it up, but last time was 1999 and lost four since. Ya, the Leafs have been mostly dismal for the last 54 years.
Love the Argos. Made me happy more often than any other team in this city lol. Big ups to the Bombers, been the best team in the league for a few years now and probably will be back at it again next year. What a game eh what a game
Honestly one of the best Grey Cup games I have ever seen! I was in NO WAY going for Toronto but they were the better team yesterday and totally won that game fair and square.Winnipeg just seemed off and just didn’t have that killer instinct like they have before. Why didn’t the Blue Bombers do this when they played my Tiger-Cats!? Lol. Also I’m pretty certain Zach Colaros was playing with a ankle injury of some kind.Heck of a game though!
As I was getting ready to watch the big game, and of course, I felt, it would be an absolute blow out by Winnipeg over the Toronto, a slam dunk. So before the game I went online to my favourite sports book to bet a humongous amount of money on the Bombers. Too embarressed to mention how much. Okay now as the game is being played I watch with a little to no stress. As the play continues, you know, I'm getting a little bit uncomfortable as the game seems to be closer than I had anticipated. Ok now this is where panic seems creep in like "What are you guys doing'. Okay now comes pacing back and forth, many times. Now it's over and I'm absolutely devastated just gutted. At this moment my friend came by and seeing the distraught I was in and asked what's wrong. I said what do you mean what's wrong, I just lost a lot of money in this game. My friend said, " No you didn't". I'm like what!. didn't I give you the money to bet heavily on the Bombers. Yes, I figured I had lots of time, so somehow I had gotten quite distracted and realized I had to get going.to make that bet. To my surprise, the betting for this game was closed. I'm sorry I didn't the bet. I said 'what!, are you kidding me? he said no. I said you beautiful man, you just saved my life. We embraced each other, and went home and tried to let the moment sinkin. It was glorious.
I almost bet $1000 on the game, my biggest sport's bet ever, then I decided to take Professor MJ's (he is on U Tube) advice, & bet a single unit/never get crazy with a bet. My unit consisted of $100. I'm glad I took MJ's advice on pro betting.
You gotta include the missed extra point! That’s a big part of the story! No matter, MY ARGOS HAVE WON!!! THIS WAS AN ALL TIME CLASSIC!!!! I LOVE THE ARGOS, AND MY THE CFL STAND FOR 10,000 YEARS!!!!
Lets not forget that rouge in the first quarter. I'm Australian and that's one of the great quirks of Canadian football that I love. This was one of the best championship deciders of any sport in recent years. Canadians ought to celebrate this just for the fact it was so awesome.
Watching this on a youtube stream made it crazier since the guy put up an image over the game with the audio still on. The last minute was crazy without seeing what happened. I wish the cfl had a broadcaster down here.
This Tiger-Cats fan salutes the Argos on their Grey Cup win. An exciting game with an unbelievable finish. And I'm glad to see Chad Kelly back in the game; gotta root for him, we went to the same high school.
No matter which team you rooted for that was an amazing performance put on by both clubs after 2 long years of the pandemic and not much to cheer for that was just like old times, way to go CFL.
Everything we could have asked for except for the hokey confetti blower on a set that looked high school-ish. And that's the #1 problem for the CFL. Even MBT cited the lack of promotion from the league. Only when people and mindsets are replaced at the corporate level and amateur "entertainment" is banished will viewership increase. It was embarassing to watch the people being lied to with lip-synch and backing tracks instead of quality live music. Who were those nobodies anyway? Never heard of them and don't want to see them again...
AGREED!! Why did they have the halftime show up in the stands at one end? That was kind weird to see. Typically the halftime show is in center of the field. People pay big money to attend the Grey Cup and for the people sitting in the seats at the opposite end probably weren't too impressed I'm sure. Awesome Snowbirds fly by though!
The Argos really came together as a team following the punt return TD by the Bombers. Truly one of the finest Grey Cups ever! It came down to the wire and both teams played an outstanding game. Hopefully this will inspire much larger attendance at BMO Field for Argos home games in 2023.
*AWESOME GAME!!* Was certainly entertaining that's for sure. That second quarter was a nail bitter. Happy to see Toronto come away with a Grey Cup win. Also KUDOS to TSN for a fantastic production... *JOB WELL DONE!!* Still waiting for them to add 'remaining timeouts' to the broadcast score like NFL has. Someday maybe... ?
There is only one thing to say....AAARRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRGGGGGOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOSSSSSSSSS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
What a finish! So many momentum changes due to big plays in the second half. I love the drama like blocked kicks, injury to a #1 QB, and timely interceptions when you thought for sure that your team was going to win. Even the highlights were exciting.
I honestly didn't care who would win the Grey Cup this season, but I just wanted SOMEONE to beat Winnipeg. And the team to do that was the Toronto Argonauts in the Grey Cup game. THANK YOU ARGOS!
Well it's a good game, not as great as West Final (BC/Winnipeg) was, but not awful. It does have an amazing play that almost outdoes my favourite GC play in 2018. Unfortunately, Winnipeg lost to Toronto but oh well. Sport is what it is. While Winnipeg is number 1 on my favs, TO is number 2 especially because of my Greek DNA. So there you go, I did a hell of a lot for Canadian Football this year, and no regrets about it. Those that didn't see it, they fucking lose, not me :) Cheers everyone! Matt
Wow CFL rules are confusing, you miss a field goal and get a point? (2nd around the 12 minute mark.) I'm happy the Bombers lost, that'll teach them to beat the Lions!!!:)
As an American football fan, I was pleased with the play of both the Argonauts and Blue Bombers in this Grey Cup game. The special teams on both sides really played well. I liked the kickoff return for the TD for Winnepeg. Toronto kept their Grey Cup title streak going by playing strong offensively. And how about the blocked field goal attempts by both teams in the final minutes. Unbelievable. I wish more NFL Super Bowls were this exciting. Thanks for uploading the footage.
14:01: It's sad that with all the sideline reporters and cameras, TSN didn't pick up that Bethel-Thompson was injured and Chad Kelly had come into the game
Not sure it was clear on the sidelines he was injured. He got minimal treatment, if any after they wrapped it up. Also the offense had been sputtering to that point so it was reasonable to think they made a QB change. I still agree with you that they waited a bit too long to confirm with the audience that he was injurwd
As a sport, as a set of rules, Canadian football is better than the Americans' rules. Get more CFL exposure in the States and you'd find yourself a lot more new fans, I bet.
We need a new kicker here in Winnipeg. Leggio has been very inconsistent all year. I don't blame the loss on him, it's a team game. Still, we deserve a better kicker.
Me sitting peacefully: Brain: when's the last time you looked up Canadian football? Me: idk probably a few years.. Brain: Go ahead and open up RU-vid. Brain: Search Grey Cup. That's their Championship game. Me: Ok thanks.
They should bring Kelly over to the Riders. They still need wot work on the O-Line however. No matter who the Riders get for a QB the O-Line has to be 110%.
Crazy to think Toronto at the beginning of the season was ranked 4th most likely to win the Grey Cup. I suppose the first three all being in the West could have been part of it, but still an incredible upset.
So I don't watch CFL. I'm an NFL guy. But if that last field goal even just made it to the end zone and hit the ground it would have been a tied game no? That's even more of a crazy ending
Dumb coaching gave away the win. Wpg rb was doing a great job why u keep forcing throws when u have the lead instead of running the clock? Cost me money but great game.
I was walking away from the stadium and some Bombers fans were beside me. I said I'm sorry you drove so far to be disappointed. We live here to do that. ;) 🤣
A lot were in the concourse it’s so cold. Doesn’t matter decent crowd and roar and enthusiasm make up for that. CFL never sells out anymore nor the Grey Cup. It’s good some empty seats, I think a full house now almost a curse now, would make players more nervous, just comfortable enough they can be themselves. And a reminder that sports is not everything. Canada has a small population compared to U. S. 37 million. Climate, people have to work, yes lack of interest, not just CFL people have other things to worry about. The crowd roar is just as good or better then then the seats.
East teams: dont ever change the cfl playoff format....just let the lions, stamps, riders beat their hell out. Finish 4th seed overall (first in East) always better than finish 2nd or 3rd seed overall in west. We love this playoff format as it gives us advantage almost every year
Bombers should have had that win but the Argos deserved it. Zack C played like crap, and as a Bombers fan, please don't invite "I have no leg" Leggio back to the Bombers training camp next year. Regina put on a great show.
What I saw yesterday was, (1) you couldn't hurt Toronto physically, (2) nor mentally. They don't need to play the high five, or jump around like they are in mental state. They acted like real fine humble men by showing CANADA, this is the right way to play football.
But I’m not a bombers fan I’m Saskatchewan roughriders fan 😊I was cheering for the bombers Kind of sucks that Winnipeg blue bombers lost the game against Toronto Argo uts
