CFL WEEK 5: Elks 11, Roughriders 12

Elks snatch defeat from the jaws of victory!

Strangely, the most entertaining 12-11 football game, maybe ever! Crazy finish.

An all time game is what we just witnessed. For all the weird, whacky reasons that makes this league so fun

Cornelius was a yard over the line of Scrimmage when he threw the ball. The command center was wrong. It didn't matter in the end cause Nick Marshall saved us from bad officiating. Edit: 8:37 his right foot steps on the 30 yard line then releases the ball. Unless there is some kind of new rule I didn't hear about. That is an illegal forward pass.

This game has took a page out of the NFL's Thursday Night Football when it comes to the weirdness of it NGL.

Edmonton coach blew it by not telling him to get out of the end zone. A new player to the league, likely didn't know or forgot the rule. Crazy game though. Eventually the Elks will win a game. Maybe not this year, but eventually. 😂

How many other games have there been where there were more touchdowns that didn't count than touchdowns that did? Best way to come back and win a game, worst way to lose a game. All 12 Rider points came after a three minute warning. This was a heck of a way to introduce Canadian football to first time viewers south of the border

All the while when I was watching this game I thought Elks gonna win with those 4 rouges until CJ turned into JR Smith and Edmonton lose to a rouge 😂😂😭😭

TSN. Some constructive criticism. Don't post the score in the title. I watched the game live on your station, but there are people who can't watch that rely on your RU-vid recap for the breakdown. I know you're encouraging people to sub to your service. However, not everyone has that ability. I'm certain they would like a spoiler free recap since there are Ads on the video after all.

Ouch. Although the Elks have been so bad for so long. This still hurts the most.

SSK, in 1st Quarter, it been better to just go for a clip shot FG than try for a TD in a 3rd down. Duh! 4th quarter makes sense but 1st? Really?

Edmonton, while losing again, did play a good game. They did better than I expected. Saskatchewan needs to step up! They won, but need to be alot better as it was more pure dumb luck than talent.

LOL to Edmonton mistake that cost them the game. Although they be far back, the returner on the Kickoff should have taken the ball (didn't go OB as was hoped) and got it out of the endzone (at least tried to) to keep the game tied. Nope, they failed 😂

Someone should tell the Elks they can't tank for Caleb Williams/Marvin Harrison

Too bad in 2nd quarter, Edmonton and Saskatchewan had great TD plays (especially SSK which had me blow up in excitement), that the refs took away! Ugh!

SPOILER. In the last minute or so the Elks give up a game tying TD + 2 point convert, concede a game losing single point on the ensuing kick off, and then a game ending INT. Yes, this team is still in playoff contention at 0-5.

wish the CPL is on TSN anyway they will be showing the FIFA Women's world cup this year in Australia & New Zealand

I was at the game and I saw Cornelius was over line of scrimmage. Its sad that not even the command center can't get it right.

Wow. This play sums up the past several years for the Elks... I'm going to go watch Ricky Ray clips bc this current team is unwatchable.

So many ppl blame the punter. What about Cornelius?! He had more than enough time to get into field goal range and he threw an INT. Good qb find ways to win games. Crappy qb like Cornelius loses games even if the defence did their jobs. How does this guy become a #1 QB!

Riders won low key

The Elks FG kicker missed 2 easy FGs with the wind at his back. And was CJ actually watching the game? Nonchalantly walking back to the ball instead of sprinting to pick up the ball. Both the player's and coach's fault

Well x3 Edmonton came close to winning... Like they missed 2 FG attempts but got singles for them (fortunately). Had they got 1 in success, they would have won by 1 point (or more if they got both, making it 3) instead. Lol 😂

The poor Elks haven't been this bad in living memory. Where was the special teams coaching? That ball should have been kicked out of the end zone. Instead the returner lollygagged his way to casually concede a game-losing single. Just awful.

And the CFL wonders why it can’t gain any traction. This was one of the worst coached, worst played and worst reffed games I’ve ever seen. Everyone involved should be embarrassed. Despite the crazy finish (despite people saying it was exciting), this was a horrid example of professional football. I really want to support the CFL, and think the game is better than the NFL, but the execution is just pathetic.

Does It Not Make Sense for The Coaches of The Elks to Teach the Rules of Canadian Football to The Imports that Are Not Familiar with Canadian Rules. Why was This Person playing a Position , In the Regular Season... Without Knowledge of CFL Rules. If The Special Team Coach is Not Fired... Then Edmonton are on the Brink of Being the Biggest Embarrassment in Canadian Sports History and to Take that Title from the Toronto Maple Leafs Takes Some Doing..🤨

Is Edmonton still woke?

I couldn't watch this entire game...just too bloody awful. But I think that if Edmonton was going to fire that Stable Genius Chris Jonend the guy with the massive brin fart, Sims...s, the debacle in the Edmonton end zone at the end of the game would be reason enough. I can't believe a coach would send out a return guy who doesn't know the rules for kicks into the end zone. A total failure of coaching, IMO. And a massive brain fart from Sims...did he not know the rule or did he forget it? Weirdest ending to a CFL game I have seen. But wait. There is more. Jones still the coach? More shenanigans possible!

The most boring football game ever in the history of the CFL. And this is just from highlights. Can't imagine having to watch the whole game. What a snore fest.

Absolutely garbage

There are two things that seem likely for the Elks playing the equally moribund Ti-Cats. Either the anger from letting this one get away will light a fire under their butts and they will finally get their first home win since 2019 or they are going to be demoralized and collapse for the remainder of the season, 2-16. Unless they bring the Eskimos' name back, I am cheering for the latter. Praying for an empty stadium against Hamilton, so Cuo and the Board of Directors can reflect about their cowardly capitulating to the woke mob, then arrogantly expecting their fans to keep buying tickets. Actions have consequences people, especially in commercial relationships.

This is embarrassing to say the least. As a long time edmonton fan. Not a home win since the name change. Call it what you want.
