Great to see an owner's video using the bike in the real world. I always try to seek out reviews from owners & not someone who's on a test ride, it's more authentic & genuine. I've yet to see one of these in the flesh, yours must be some of the first 450MTs in Oz, I think they'll sell like hot cakes, enjoy!
Thanks for that, and your rite . You can't really know a bike on a little test ride. When I went to the bike shop to me it looked even better. I haven't found much I don't like and if I do I say it. Cheers for watching.
I’m so impressed with this bike in a few months after a few good reviews I would consider getting rid of my CRF rally for one - selling a Honda for a Chinese bike! Something I thought I’d never do but the CRF is just too slow.
@@bhip56 mine is the 300 it’s a little better but you should never have to downshift for hills on any bike my DR had about forty something horsepower and that was perfect light off road and fun in the twisties.
A lot of people are saying the same about the crf, I love the look of them but yea these go way better and that motor with twin balancer is silky smooth. It cruises great even if it does rev a bit harder. I am going to experiment with front sprocket and see what a difference it makes but nothing wrong with it the way it is.
@@bazz6670 Tubeless spoked rims, One - touch off road mode 270degree 44hp engine, Low comfortable seat Good electronics Good range. Factory luggage crash bars and centre stand. Manageable weight. Looks and sounds great. I hear the warantee is pretty good too. It’s like they have listened closely to the market and have provided exactly what so many want. I respect any manufacture that does that. So many people want a cheap light weight do everything rally/enduro/ adventure bike and for the most part this segment has been ignored. In fact arguably it didn’t even exist so well Done CF Moto.
Thanks mate, I know what you mean like every add is done with some super talented rider doing stuff us average guys wouldn't think about trying . I'm showing the real word.😊
Great video, that is also my backyard, which i ride a KTM 300 EXC, awaiting for my MT450 to arrive to try on thoses very tracks, I will drop the tire pressures down to see where it feels best.
Thanks for commenting, we are lucky to have such a great backyard. great you are giving the 450 a go such a great allrounder. Might see you on the tracks, cheers
Thx for the vid. After long search and waiting, my friend and i are getting two MT450s. These will serve for European trips, there trying hard its still 20% dirt. My Rally 300 here in Indonesia is perfect as the pace is slower and there is a lot of dirt. Glad to see the bike works well in real life. I have a little CFMOTO Papio 125, very pleasantly surprised with build quality and all the little features.
Have pre-ordered an Ibex450 for delivery here in the U.S. Dealership says mid August. Planning on selling 3 bikes as the 450 should do it all! I hope. This bike may put CFMoto on the bigger stage here in the states. Their 4 wheelers are good sellers with robust build. And the 450 engine has been proven to be reliable also. So many great features on this bike out of the box. Seems not only good for the price but good period! And the Honda CRF300's are almost unattainable here and marked up above MSRP if you can find one at all. I do hope they can sort the throttle a bit so as to be smoother response down low...not throttle by wire so not software fix to it? Emissions requirements can play a part in this so it may take an aftermarket fix to smooth this out...?
I think it is great value, the motors have been in service for a while now. The only thing i would pick on is the low down throttle is not smooth but you get used to it. i'm sure someone will sort it out.
At around the 3:00 mark I can hear you puffing which means you are not breathing correctly (and that gets tiring fast). Relax and breath normally. Practicing off road skills helps a lot but, the point is, be conscious about how you breath while riding. It transforms your riding experience overall.
Thanks Bazz 66 for the updates. I'm in the USA (Colorado) and we aren't supposed to get the Ibex 450 (same bike) until Aug or Sept. I'm 5'10" with 32.5" inseam. Are you flat footed on the stock seat? I've also had both knees replaced and wondering how the seating position is? Is it cramped on the stock seat? I think I may prefer the taller flatter seat but being the same height as you, you think it is needed? Appreciate the great content, keep it up. It's also on my bucket list to come ride in Australia, looks epic! I will likely keep the stock gearing as I live at 3,000 m altitude and often ride over 4,000 m, so the bike would be down on power (27-36% less). I went down a tooth on my previous KTM 690 so I could slow down in 1st and 2nd and still have power for the steep and technical stuff.
I can almost flat foot both feet, the seat is good not to cramped but I would prefer a flatter type . If I had the rally seat I think I would be touching ground with my toes. It's great you are getting the bikes. I have the 15 tooth sprocket on order will demo the difference. Cheers
If you turn ignition off no , but if you are just having a quick stop use the kill switch. It just a quick hold of the button anyway and you can do it on the fly.
I could get 400 ks out of a tank of 15 litres on my Himalayan (that was mostly off road from Blenheim through the Molesworth Station road back to Ashburton, so that economy is very poor. I think a Scrambler 400X would make much easier work of that trail. It seemed to be labouring a bit.
Fantastic real world Oz offroad riding. Great to see two 450MT's together. How would you compare the offroad abilities compared to your upgraded suspension DRZ400E ?
For this wieght bike it is pretty good suspension. Drz is way lighter bike if you want to do the harder stuff. But it depends on the riding you want to do. It was great to ride with Glen on his bike and talk about them.
@@bazz6670 Thanks for your advice. Got a worked DRZ400E for the tougher stuff and a T7 for the faster gravel tracks and made roads. I did a short test ride of the 450MT last week and liked the bike a lot, the snatchy throttle was a turn off but thanks to you I know it can easily be improved. The power seemed great for offroad but fear I would end up flogging the nuts off it chasing my mates in the twisties to keep up. Will be keenly watching your new videos to see what mods and what your longer term opinion is. Learnt so much about the 450MT already from your videos and have been enjoying going through your older vids. You have a great bunch of riding buddies exploring some fantastic trails on so many different bike. Cheers.
@BikesDrones thanks mate yhats a great compliment 👍. I'm going to try a 15 front sprocket soon and see what difference it makes just for the hell of it. Yea it's not a race bike this one but for my needs it's great. I'm getting old 😆
Bikes look great, what brand of lever guard is your maté running. Ordered mine yesterday, but can’t get any accessories until August so may have to stay out off the bush until then.
I think they are zenith or something like that , he took them of his crf 250. I'm going to try bark busters I have on another bike and see what happens
Manual on Honda crf 300 say's Oil change every 12000 km Spark plug 20000 km or something On cf Moto 450 say's Oil change every 5000 km And spark plug every 5000 km Its the little details that tells you everything The thing is that honda even slower,, can make a long trip without service Can cf moto do it?? 🤔
A bike should always change oil every 5000 kms or so, it’s such a easy job anyway. Hondas break down every now and again, just like any other without looking after. My cf 650 has done 108000ks without any problems. Oil and filter change at 5-6000 ks.
From standard this bike has way better suspension, and the weight feels similar. Mt is so refined to dr . I still have my dr but probably won't ride it again as new bike is so much fun.
I’m wondering how it compares to the feel of a drz400? Does it feel atleast as quick and torquey as the drz with all that extra weight plus newer emission standards? How does The suspension compare?
The drz is a more focused offroader, I have had 2. Drz will pill heaps harder and has great suspension. But if you want to do long road stretches in comfort and have a nice smooth motor the mt is better that way. I'm nearly 60 so now and have been riding my hole life and at this stage this is the bike for me.
@@bazz6670 I was looking at it for more of a rough dirt road tourer and backroad explorer than a road bike. That’s what I use drz for primarily. I really don’t want to step down in power/weight ratio. The drz is what I consider just enough power to keep me interested
