What a great ride through the forests - looks as mean as with those knobblies on! Funny how so many of us older guys are buying this bike, like to think there’s a little wisdom in that decision somewhere!😜
Cheers for the comment, I had a fun time out there. I guess it comes down to the price and what you get(bang for buck). They are a great bike I've had the T7, KTM 950, super tenere and as with all of us no doubt the list goes on. I still have the 800mt for touring more on but have taken that on some pretty good tracks including singles, after owning that for the last couple of years and hearing about the pre order for the 450 I jumped on it knowing it would be a good thing and certainly not disappointed.
Im 59. I've owned 35 motorcycles, and i am very interested in the Chinese ktm. I've had a few surgeries, and i need a bike that has a lower seat height and decent power and some offroad chops!and the $ is right
Liking the vids of the MT450. Seriously considering one to be my longer range bike. Seems very capable of doing about 70% of the types of trails I ride. Definitely better than a KLR650 and would be more comfortable than a DR650. What a great little machine. A T700 would be my first choice if I was prepared to drop over 20k on something I ride in the bush a couple of times a month but I just don’t have the money to justify it. I always like to point out the T7 (and all bikes for that matter) were a good bit cheaper before COVID. That really shits me how the manufacturers used COVID to price gouge. The T7 is the same price in the US now as it was in Australia pre COVID so no excuses. Maybe CFMOTO is compensating us for COVID. The MT700 is also a bargain but unfortunately it inherited the KTM camshaft oil feed problems and it wouldn’t be as capable as the 450 anyway. Great vids mate and ride safe. 👍🇦🇺💪
Also I am sure you will get heaps of attention on RU-vid due to the fact you are riding the MY450. Make sure all your titles start with CFMOTO 450MT 💪🇦🇺👍
Thanks mate, very true. The T7 is a great bike, felt a little more to heavy than the 450 but the extra power made up for that. The only other thing was it has a welded rear sub frame which I've been told that if it was dropped and that got bent or even the exhaust mount it was a write off. I owned one for about a year in 2020-21. Great bike but living the value and handling of the 450 just not as quick.👍🍻
Beautiful area to ride in! On your next video can you please see how much mud can get packed on the front before the fender starts clogging it. Looking to get these tires too
@@AltitudeAerials Cheers for the comment, I had the tyre caked with mud at one point in this ride and didn't come close to binding up with the guard. Probably be different in really heavy sticky clay in saying that speed flicks it off. Cheers
Looks like them new tyres Handel the slippery stuff alright Mick. I tried heading up to that communication tower the other week but I had to turn it around. Too slippery for my tyres. Would you believe I rode my Harley up there years ago. Skidded all the way back down though
@@billweegink27 it was pretty slippery, well done making it up the on the Harley. Bloody good effort.. I'm watching million dollar Bogan... It's entertaining.
Looks like the new Tyres made a big difference, that mud and clay look the same as we ride out Wombat and Creswick. Have you done any other mods like 15 front sprocket, subbed mate .
No, I have the 15t there but was waiting to see how the new tyre affected it. I'm not going to put it on it feels fine for now. Putting that 140/80 has made it similar to the 15t mod. I'm keen to get up there to Wombat, heard good things about it. 👍
Hey Mick, I've never ridden up there.... I ride south of Jumbuck Road/Upper Middle Creek Road/Grand Ridge Road... Looking to make a trek across to Mt Tassie one day.... Looks a bit tricky... Bush and tracks look the same.... BTW, I'll take a guess were you purchased the bike... You planning of having servicing (Other than Oil and Filters) done here in Gipps or the Dealer 135km away..??
Sounds like fun, I've been getting my bike serviced at O'Donnell motorcycles in Wonthaggi only because I was living on the island and Pakenham was a little far away. O'Donnell brothers are great blokes with heaps of knowledge.
@@MicksMotoAdv Ok.. I'm placing my order with MCAS in the next few weeks.... I want crash bars and a 15t front sprocket fitted and bars are apparently in high demand and none left out of the first few shipment's... I'm just down the road from you in YS... I'm not young any more and my TE450 is too tall and too quick as a sightseeing mount... 🙃
Thanks mate, I'm using the action 4 on my chin, I've heard but haven't used that you can get fluffy sticky stuff to put over the mic input which I'm going to look into. I'm not sure why there isn't much wind noise as std. Sorry I couldn't help to much on that. Cheers
@@vibeatyt maybe, I'm not sure, I haven't used a GoPro for a long time. Pretty happy with action 4 and just bought a insta 360 x4 to confuse the hell out of me😜 we'll see how that goes, apparently I can use my helmet mic with it.
@@adri6959 Cheers, I have crash bars on back order, bnb bash plate and rad guard should be here soon. Not sure I'll go with the high fender. See how it goes. I prefer the look of the std. One
@@adri6959Cheers, if it does I'll replace it, I never had a problem with the T7 and had motoz RallZ on it. Don't think I'll ever go back to motoz tyres, they don't have any silica in them and found that wonder on the highway.
It's a Nelson rigg bag, they have them at MX store www.mxstore.com.au/p/Nelson-Rigg-CL-1045-Sport-Adventure-Slim-Motorcycl/67-145-11?gad_source=1&gclid=CjwKCAjwnqK1BhBvEiwAi7o0X9qxSpzSPPT8JWwKc4Vu0uX2TsMUTxQ6x5__NDnMLoLHeBNOVeKkUBoCCd0QAvD_BwE Hope that helps, Cheers
I've tweaked them to my weight. I'm pretty happy with them but thinking I'll get a heavier rear spring as I did on my T7. I think I've got front rebound at about 10 clicks from Max and compression around the same. 4 on the rebound for the rear. Preload is wound on the front and the rear to suit my weight and sag. Hope that helps. Cheers
Good question, stock tyres handle on road a lot better than the mitas, the mitas are an 80/20 tyre more suited for off road, I'd never push the mitas on the sealed roads as I would with the stock tyres in saying that I'd never get anywhere as quick with the stock tyres in the mud, greasy sections or gravel like I can with the Mitas. I haven't pushed them to hard on wet roads but they should grip better than motoz having silica in the compound rather than the motoz being a natural rubber compound. Hope that helps. Cheers
Cheers for the response, it's All done through the app over the air. Touch base of you have any trouble. It's fairly simple. I've done the 800 the same way
That's a good one, I guess it comes back to what you want. I haven't ridden the 660 but did own a T7, great bike but a couple of things I wasn't happy with, muffler was mounted directly to the rear sub frame which was not replaceable, tubed wheels and felt top heavy unlike the 450. Hopefully you get either bike I'm sure the 660 would be a great thing.
