Download the FruitBowl Renders for the Series
My Friend and fellow artist, Chase Bickel, has kindly provided us with some high quality renders of a FruitBowl to download for free and play around with.
Download the FruitBowl renders now, or I will always post the links at the top of each video and blog post for you to download later:
You can Choose to either download all 3 FruitBowls at once:
FruitBowl_All_Renders_Redshift_Arnold_Octane.zip (1.61 GB)
drive.google.com/file/d/1yism...
Or Each FruitBowl Render Individually for faster downloads:
FruitBowl_Redshift_Render.zip (569.1 MB)
drive.google.com/file/d/1a49k...
FruitBowl_Arnold_Render.zip (562.8 MB)
drive.google.com/file/d/1dLbJ...
FruitBowl_Octane_Render.zip (515.4 MB)
drive.google.com/file/d/1J62X...
You can place the FruitBowl renders files into the /SourceImages/ folder of the project files folder accompanying each video and nuke will reconnect the read nodes.
Head to the blog post for more details.
Please remember, Basics -- Advanced -- Template, the series will dive into some very deep topics, so it's good to cover these fundamentals

ShuffleCycleLayers is an ace tool. Good side effect you already have the proper shuffle created and selected. Another +1 for the old shuffle: always less less double work inside commercial pipelines. Lately had two companies in a row who only had nuke11; working remote with 12 could mess that up pretty easily. As long as the latest 12 is not the standard yet (especially among freelancers... moneys...) I would always use the old one. What I don't understand is their none-switching to a FrameHold2 class from 12 to 13.

Hey thank you! Ya, i always thought that cycle layers made sense on on the shuffle node, wish it was default! And from my experience as well, still safer at the moment to use the old shuffle when working with other companies or other freelancers. Maybe they will make a minor version update to some of the other versions below 12 to convert the node once upon loading back to old shuffle. But until then, we are in stuck between a rock and a hard place

We should protest in front of the foundry to get old shuffle back! 🤣

Amazing, thanks! I've watched the keying series , now the time for the CG one has come. Offtopic question, what is that script in the bottom right pane called 'MassivePanelPyside'.

How can I render out the layercontactsheet with the layer names on top?
@CompositingMentor
@CompositingMentor 2 года назад
You cannot do it by default, it's just an interface tool. However, if you use a text node (either the old or new text node) you can plug the text node into a shuffle. To display the name of the layer that is shuffled out, you can use [value input.in] for the old Shuffle and [value input.in1] for the new Shuffle. So you put [value input.in] in the text field of the text and plug it into the Shuffle node, and it will display what is shuffled out. Then you could maybe make a contactSheet node, or use a nukepedia tool like contactSheetAuto to make a contact sheet with all the labels. Is it a pain in the ass? yes. But it can be done. It's usually easier to do this when you have a fairly smooth pipeline and always render out the same passes and have the same naming conventions. Hope that is helpful.

@@CompositingMentor I just noticed [value.input.in] can be used in your LabelFromRead node description as well. It's very helpful. Thanks a lot!
