I agree man! I have some 1st edition pokémon cards that are graded and the cards are nice. I looked at them 100 times and can’t figure out why they were graded like 7 and 6 and even a 4! These were pack fresh cards! The only thing that makes sense is maybe the centering and faded… It’s a really a bummer cause those are very hard to get cards these days…

The gate guardian, barrel dragon, time wizard, black skull dragon, thousand dragon, change of heart and mirror force were my favourites in that video, I know it’s hard to watch due to the faded cards, but the old school cards bring back nostalgia!

Suijin getting such a low grade yet Kazejin doing so well is so interesting to me. I adore these faded cards of yours. They're absolutely incredible and probably will fetch a nice price over time due to how rare/cool they are. Mint is mint but these are more rare than mint.

The Gate Guardian pieces and the B.Skull Dragon are my personal favorites. So strange that the Kazejin didn't get either the "Insufficient Ink" or "Error" labels

That was rough to watch. I personally like CGC over PSA because of the clearer case and sub grades. I agreed with all the subgrades except for the surface subgrades where the damage wasn't obvious. Never did error prints with them, but if low ink is the reason for knocking the surface, then that is really disappointing. Hopefully you can send in some normal cards and see what happens. A CGC perfect 10 would be fire.

for the prices that psa and all other gradsing companies charge it blows my mind at how bad they grade and how bad they slab them up and how scratched and smudged the slabs are on return

You can email their customer support about the Kazejin missing the identifier when it should've had it and they should be able to fix it for free I think. Their support is pretty good. Also be interested in a crack and resub.

Mirror Force was off right to left on the front. Thicker on the right. Also remember that the Mirror Force had some major indent cut marks on the bottom left. Honestly I would have given it a 6 or 7 Surface with those cut indents, so they were being very generous with an 8.

Hey Ruxin, if you want to put some time in you can easily get rid of those light scratches on all of your slabs. There are a ton of automotive plastic polishes as well and industrial compounds that can remove those for sure (ex: Novus or Maguiers .. etc). Again it takes time and is faster with like a dremel on low. Cheers and love the videos.

YO! I dont care what anyone says, that faded solemn judgement and mirror force makes it look like a monster card rather than a trap card; so much so that it looks like an error print! 10/10!

I generally feel like some sort of reduction in grade should happen for fading. It's a nice aesthetic, but at the end of the day it's still a defect. Minor defect imo, but a defect nontheless. I don't feel like you can pretend it's not a defect.

They are supposed to be grading the condition of the card itself. The card is in perfect condition. It happened at the factory and isn’t actually damage like print lines

Oohh I love that suijin- and I can’t say no to a barrel dragon or solemn judgement. It’s interesting that they don’t mark them down even less in grade for the fade! Either way these are awesome

@7:07 There is your answer why surface is only 8 on the Mirror Force card. CGC is pretty tame compared to BGC or PSA when dealing with this since that looks like a foil scratch to me (it basically somehow stripped the top part and revealed the foil underneath). @10:11 Here is the answer for the Gate Guardian. I don't think it is a print line since it stops midway and also appears above 2 of the star levels in the card. It looks like a small fold/bump line (may I know if you touched that line and feel if it is slightly raised before submitting it?).

Actually the mirror force and the judgment had surface issues if you look closely so that sub grade is not off, the centering tho I agree with you for sure. Also, if it was me I’ll get all of the cards re case because that’s just too bad, isn’t not fair for the customer so just try and send the cards again for new slabs. Amazing video my friend.

Something about the harpie sisters makes it look pretty clean. Like an alternate timeline yugioh design. Solemn judgment is a close second for me though.

My favourite cards would have to be b skull dragon and the classic Joey Wheeler card time wizard I always loved when Joey aged all he’s monsters up in the anime like baby dragon to thousand dragon and everyone else’s monsters turned to dust.

Dudeeee I just had a bunch come back from CGC last week as well all but 2 have those horrible scratch lines down the middle. I definitely feel like you should have gotten better grades from those. That’s crazy.

It's ridiculous how inconsistent grading cards is. I've seen ppl re submit PSA 8 and get a 10 and ppl re sub a 9 and get a 7. There's also way too many cases of ppls cards being returned with damage that wasn't there when it was sent.

I honestly love all of the MRD you have because it is one of the OG YuGiOh! cards especially that is very memorable from the early episodes/seasons of the tv show. And regardless of the fading it just shows that it has aged very very well

Hey Ruxin, would you be able to talk about a list of different top 5 grading companies for Yugioh? I feel like there are so many now but CGC has been catching my eye and blowing up when other Yugitubers like Simply Unlucky and Vintage Yugioh have been uploading same videos of this company as well recently. Only ones I’ve heard of are PSA, Beckett (BGS), CGC, SGC, and DSG, but I know there’s many more….

I for one would love a faded card for my collection. To me to have a old and faded, it's like holding on to history. I think it should actually add to the score because so many other cards don't make it this far. Especially when they get gray, i think it actually looks really cool.

My favorite card from this return is Suijin. It's my favorite of the Gate Guardian archetype, even though they all share the same effect, and they're practically all the same. It's probably because of the artwork, it always looked super cool to me.

Have you tried AGS for grading? You should send one of these in as a cross grade. They graded my faded cards properly.

You don't seem to notice some of the print lines in those cards that is probably the reason for the lower surface scores.

You should send them back with grades on the cases they sent you. 10 corner, 10 edge, 3 surface, 8.5 centering.

I just feel like there’s a lack of consistency at times with some of these companies. It’s also maddening that they used these scratched fronts on the cases. It’s consistently the same spot on all the cases.

Not sure about their workflow but that really feels like different graders having different opinions about whether it's graded against a perfect color print vs something actually wrong w the surface itself.

CGC cases look nice but I hate how tough they are on grading. I sent 10 cards sometime in 2020 to test out the company and got back all either 9 or 9.5 so I cracked them all and sent to psa and got all PSA 10 and sold them for way more than what I would of gotten keeping them as is.
