I might be wrong ... I take that the last part where Life and death go round the tree means that life and death is an eternal cycle which has no end ? this is a piece of art , it should be treasured , AMAZING.

Here's my theory on what this story is: they are both lonely but they cannot be together because of what they are, the boy being winter and death and the girl being summer and life. They are incompatible in every meaning of the word, being complete opposites in nature. Because of their persuasion over nature their very existences do not allow them to be anywhere near each other without something disastrous happening, thus making them forever alone.

Death is misunderstood. People think it is cold and strange but it is just as much a part of life as breathing.

Winter and Spring, Life and Death, the go hand by hand, but will never be together.

Oh man, this was such a wonderful short film. But the moment I saw the puppies I knew there was going to be some tears, and I was right. I know not every story can have a happy ending, but the scene where they're playing with each other at the end was the closure I was overjoyed to see.

I just don’t understand why the scenes and the characters are so cute and beautiful but on the whole it gives people a very depressing feeling? It’s just beautiful omg😭

The sad truth of the world is that to many are opposites that compliment each other but can never be with each other only with another that the other can not love. This is, by far, the most beautiful, entrancing, and detailed animation I think I have ever seen... I've seen wonderful animation, but I don't think I've ever seen anything like this. I'm literally speechless, usually, I can go on and on about something, but I literally do not have any words to describe how beautiful this was. After a few minutes of recovery: Still totally shocked and amazed by this! I may only be 12, so maybe I haven't seen as many animations as adults, but this is by far the most gorgeous and artistic work I think I have ever seen. I love animation, and study it often, but I have never seen anything like this before. The plot was brilliant and the character design was marvelous! It captured both life and death as innocent children perfectly, and their attitudes and actions displayed their characters wonderfully. The setting and style made me speechless, and the entire animation as a whole was totally immersive. More in the replies, running out of characters.
