Jokes aside, this was a very-suprising film. An original film like this should be recognized. At first you're confused, but over time, Ed's story unfurls. Honestly, great short film. Genius.
But wait... what's the message? That all the "life" or "flashbacks" shown to us are just an act... and he was only an actor with nor family, no friends, no nothing and finally commited suicide?
Cause he's a lonely actor who didn't have a real family of his own or friend, a life he wish he had, it basically made him depress, and you know what does to people.
you can most of the time. it is also often a mixed feeling situation where the smallest variation weigh heavily. meaning a person may be both angry and sad, but only really recognize the angry part. which is also the part the observer recognize. also people seem allergic to having ther feelings evaluated. im not surprised considering how cold humans are and how some of us really like to be judgmental upon that fact. so excuse me, but i think you are surrounded by cold people as you state what you do. really, you can't tell when someone close to you is happy or angry? underlying feelings, yes ffs we have all feelings in existence in us at all times, that doesn't mean they are in focus right now and if you are one of those who start asking negative questions to happy family and friends you should seek help. however the situation must always be evaluated, if you are found happy and partying the day after one of your close ones die it is only natural to address totally wrong feelings. excluding the chance of the close one to be good riddance as that may be the scenario, if that's so keep partying!
@@bobzillathebabykicker2981 sorry but you're statement is either worded very badly or you're just simply insensative about mental health / uneducated on reality.
@@quilfrey1139 I work at a mental health institute. Patients are only deep into withdrawals if they've had moments of their lives that are substantially worse or better to compare to eachother. and patients with depression tend to focus on negative times much more often than positive ones. But they know how negative those times are BECAUSE they had a positive experience in the first place. If someone's in a constantlly miserable experience but have no bliss to contrast it with they don't know how bad their situation is.
AlternateAlien what the fox is zootopia 2? I mean, i really enjoyed that movie, so i would like to know if it exists/will exist. I know that google+ an yt will announce everyone who answered that comment that there is a guy who asks about zootopia 2, so it's really possible that among authors of answers there would be a nice, kind people who likes that movie and will answer me, especially because in the first moment he won't see how long, full of language mistakes and pointless is this comment, and so reading it. Ps: Pearson, not people. Ps 2: Who the heck invented this word? "Pearson". Sounds like son of a pear. Ps for "Ps 2": just like disapPEARing. Ps 3: sorry for wasting your time, its just 3 am and I'm really sleepy. So why im just trying to beat my record in length of comment among going to sleep? Anyway, goodnight, RU-vid.
+Cameron McAllister Being the best at something means total commitment to it. But that doesn't always equate to happiness. You need a little bit of insanity to do great things. The secret is walking that edge.
I like this animation because I was very confused at the start. But near the conclusion I finally got that he was a depressed actor, now all the flash backs make scene.
So here's the rundown: There is one story being told, but leading you to think otherwise, by telling it backwards, and you think you're seeing this man grow up, and then fall apart from having such an extraordinary life. But he's not. You are led to believe this man has women, and adventure, and that he's seen many things and explored, but he hasn't. The movies are shown in order to allude to him leading a life of adventure and intrigue, and it leaves you wondering, why is he about to kill himself? When I first saw this, I had assumed, the scenes where he was about to kill himself, it was also a part of a movie (I was watching another upload of it and one key scene was removed for some reason, so I had thought that for a while), but it is his actual life. A stark contrast from the vibrancy of his fictional life. Even the war had been brighter than his mansion. He likely grew tiered of the monotony, as he wasn't even living his fictional lives out, it's all an act with smoke and mirrors, so he stopped. He was tired of living a life absent of adventure, he was tired of playing in the shoes of others and wanted to be more than that. I am more amazed at the means of telling this story than anything. Its so... dark and brooding, but lovely all at once...
Yes the plot is deep and the truth for so many people the human heart desires one thing but because of what's popular or what is now the cool lifestyle we go after that sp to speak in paraphrase but I really wanted to agree 100 on the method HOW they made the story the plot twist in the movie posters and such was super dope. I really like this
Holy shit...this hit deep. If you are confused continue reading *spoilers* He's an actor all those flash backs were movies he played, however he never lived them. He was just an actor. He didn't have a kid or a wife or anything. He was just alone at the top. That's how most actors get...
A morbidly clever short. i liked the way each scene was a backwards/forwards vibe with the flashbacks throughout his career sprinkled in. The reveal at the end was perfectly executed, too. Nicely done.
Whoever made this, can you make a sequel or a prequel to this story. I love the seriousness of the short. Usually 3d cartoons are always comedic in nature and they end up being tiresome to watch but I love the seriousness of this.
+Grammar Jew yo. that's. true though the 8:08 scene looks like it can get ya in allot of trouble if ya parent thinks you watching something else that you shouldn't be XD
This deserves WAY more recognition! I mean, it has more than 2 million views, but I still think it should have more attention still. Gave me straight-up Bojack Horseman vibes, I loved it. Beautiful animated short.
This film should be a lot more popular than it is, it's extraordinary how deep it looks into the minds of people who simply can't see the happy side of life and turn to the gun eventually. Very good film, 11/10
when I see films like this about people in the film industry wondering if they could have a better life and all that, I wonder if there is something about the film industry that makes people in it feel like they are not living wonderful lives. like... maybe the pretending to be something you're not all the time gets to your head.
Genial msm. Parabens para o otimo trabalho desses brasileiros
Now, obviously, I may be wrong, but here's my idea of what's being illustrated here: Ed is an actor, and all of the scenes we saw are images from various films he's starred in. He's been an actor for a long time, as we see him aging through the various roles. However, he's visibly miserable; the imagery suggests that he feels his life isn't worth much (drawn-out illustration of the suicide scene calling attention to the inevitability of death and easily-lost life). With the use of the Charlie Chaplin quote, I would say the idea is that if you aren't happy where you are, you won't be happy anywhere; the various scenes we see played out from his films (starry-eyed love, sexual indulgence, thrill-seeking, rebellion, danger, mystery) all correspond to real pursuits of fulfillment that often leave people unsatisfied and bitter once the excitement has passed. The fact that it turns out these were all scenes from movies suggests that Ed knows such pursuits are ultimately as meaningless as a work of fiction, and judging by some of the items in his dressing room, he may have followed some of them in vain at one point, leaving him jaded and depressed. In short, chasing experiences rather than substance will never bring you happiness.
+Ivan Matias The animation looks excellent; as I mentioned, the subtle changes in hair and facial features allowed me to identify the order the movie scenes took place in before seeing the posters. I like the textures on many of the inanimate objects, such as the broken glass, and I love the lighting effects. Also, I appreciate the attention to detail; I noticed that when driving along, the old Cadillac's wheels were bouncing over individual stones.
Wow! This is the most amazing CGI 3D animated short-film. Congratulations to all those that wrote, and composed, produced and directed this. It's officially my No1 favourite, fab visual effects and acoustic
success is only truly worth it if you have good relationships with whom you can share it. you don’t have to be like this just because you’re rich. as long as you have family and friends you will truly be happy
Fabuloso!
Robin Williams hung himself because he was suffering from serious depression. He did not want to suffer anymore. It wasn't about the fame or the acting. He was suffering internally.
Red Vanquish he hung himself because he was diagnosed with Louie body dementia, an incurable and degenerative disease that is an incredibly horrible way to slowly die from.
I get Ed was an actor & all his flashbacks were just different movies he had been in & he eventually killer himself due to not knowing who he was, or from loneliness, depression or whatever. I get all that, but what I don’t understand is why in his dressing room at 11:13 mark, is there a wig that appears to belong to a woman bunny. Maybe it’s just a memento from one of his old movies, but it threw me off. Because for a moment I was wondering as he playing both the woman & male parts. I know that’s not correct, it just was confusing. Please let me know if I’m not seeing or understanding something
I believe what this short film is trying to say is that life lacks all the things Ed was portraying in the films he was acting in. In the movies he was acting, having fun and dating women but in real life, all he did was work, work, work, AND work.
I love this film I always come back and watch it. The intro song, the animation the and the impact of the journey. Now that I’m older I can appreciate it even more
The cliche money doesn’t bring you happiness . Your happiness is your responsibility, of which I agree However saying Money doesn’t bring you happiness leaves out the other part, neither does been broker . I bet You’d rather be sad in your materialistic dreams than no dreams at all . Who’s to say not having money will give you happiness , or would your situations be better off ? It could not even be better , what if the misery is not from the money . Your happiness is your responsibility, focus on shit , shit grows Focus on happiness, happiness grows too 💯

It's sad he did not know how to balance the two. It looks as though his personal life is not stable with the treating, the alcohol and the drugs. It can be depressing feeling so empty all the time. Exactly, what happened to Robin Williams, may that intellectual genius rest in peace, he is forever missed.
Ed's entire life was made up of scenes from movies he'd starred in, starting with that cutie in the farmhouse? He had all that wealth, and the type of friends that go with living the high life, but he had no life whatsoever of his own. He'd realized at the end that his life had had no meaning. That's not true, of course. As a brilliant, award-winning actor, he brightened many peoples' lives, but he didn't realize that. A crying shame. And yes, this short film is complete and also brilliant, just as it is. Bravo.
I really enjoyed this short film. It was sad but the more that was revealed the more you felt for the actor. Ed's story imo shows that pretending to be someone your not eventually catches up with you and can lead to a lonely life. Actors lead a very interesting life but I can see jt getting lonely at times and this just kinda proves my ideals. But this film overall was very well done with the animations, art style, and material. 10/10 5 stars!
That is the most human bunny I've ever seen. Beautiful animated, but so sad for Ed. Wow what an animated feature. It does remind me of Robin Williams. The pain behind the eyes and sense of humor.
My interpretation of this shortfilm. All you see were different movies as ED is a movie star. I believe this film just wants to portray how some movie stars feel: All the glory, all the money, but always alone. Remember Robin Williams? That came to mind when I saw this. Though I must say, the beginning where he wants to suicide himself, is yet another movie. I would say his last movie. So why do we see more of this one then all the other movies? I believe it is just made to show us how he actually hates his life. An emphasis on his real feelings.
+Azure Skyfly Hey… I don't see it, because something is missing. But it does not mean that you are not right or that I am right. I just said above "my interpretation". cheers Azuer Skyfly.
Well I liked it, a little confusing like Pulp Fiction when you're strung out on carrot juice, but they did a damn good job on the animations. I just felt sorry for Ed at the end...
