Give me that precious adorable little guy! He doesn't deserve that ending!

I thought this would end happy. Now I am making everyone in my family watch it to understand my pain.

These films are starting to stress me. Never know how they will end. I can't take the sad ones.

I collect music boxes and globes. This just breaks my heart. That egg is so beautiful:(

Okay...….I ready to see the alterative ending when the egg found a new home and the owner saw the beauty from within now.

"No one ever tried to see the real him"... most people saw this in this film. But this tells one more important thing that most of us would have missed, "He/she never tried to see the real himself/herself, about what he/she could do and what not. How precious he/she was. What abilities he/she had." We must know our own value. We are not what someone says, interpretes us or anything.

I have never related more to an animated purple egg in my life. I feel you, Eggie. I feel you.

i need a sequel where it gets fixed and gifted to someone who'll appreciate the cute little thing.

If someone had given me that poor little thing I would have keep it and take care of it, it's beautiful!

I don’t think he necessarily ended things for himself. He could be fixed on the surface - it looked like he only broke a little - and someone who doesn’t care about perfection would love to have him. His music box played perfectly. Imagine how much a child or lover of music boxes would love to see that! I would love to see a sequel where someone accepts his now patched up outside and loves him for how beautiful he still is!

It's like a Faberge egg. It's very royal present in Russia, even though it's made from plastic. Real Faberge eggs were made with real gold, emeralds, brilliants. I used to be in the museum of Faberge, very beautiful masterpieces of Carl Faberge for art lovers...

I love how there was no happy ending. Don’t sugarcoat the truth and the reality. Not all stories get happy ending. People take their own life’s everyday. People don’t care until it’s too late. It’s a story that will keep being told over and over again. Tell people you love them be there you just never know.

The people in this film are nuts. That egg is beautiful: what is not to love about it?

I was watching this with my 4 year old and she innocently remarked : “ He needs to just open up to someone before it’s too late”. Oh my goodness the tears that came rollin’ down from both the video and her innocent insight. I totally agree that a second version with an alternative (happy) ending would be awesome😉

I was hoping for a happier ending but still,i'm glad that i learned a lesson and realized some things. I could relate alot to the faberge egg,about being forgotten and always seen as unnecessary, And at a young age, I'm pretty suicidal as well. But the ending gave me hope, That i'm still so much more than i am now, Maybe i just don't know it yet or i haven't found someone who's going to bring the best of me. And i also noticed that the other materials on the thrift shop; the piggy bank,the porcelain figurine-like owl and,the teddy bear. They also have worth and have unique uses just like the faberge egg,people just can't see what they're made of and people make it seem that they don't have any worth at all so most of them ended up being a pessismists,hopeless and miserable things because of the influence that surrounds them. So for all of the suicidal,depressed,neverheard,or what may other people consider as weirdos and unnecessary human beings, this is for y'all,you guys are so much more than you think,and you guys are always worth it :)

The ending is that this little guy was later repaired by a skilled craftsman and placed in the most prominent display window. The gold ultimately shimmered and shone brightly.❤

I'm sorry, maybe it's just me, but I'd buy that egg. Its gorgeous! And now seeing its a musical carousel makes me want it more! Im a bit old fashioned and love antiques.

I like how this shows that we often don't know what is inside someone. It's only when they are gone we learn how valuable they truly are.

Is it bad that I relate to this so much? Like the egg no one really appreciates me, and when I'm gone no one won't even notice it nor will they care. This video has a really beautiful message and it hit my feelings.

I've watched this countless times and every time I cry. I'm a teenager, I've been bullied for years, left alone, not involved in discussions, parties and anything a teenager normally does. I give my heart, my everything for a friend. I have plenty of passions that also make people happy. I relate so much to the little egg, because until now everyone stopped only at how i looked: i was the chubby and shy girl who was allowing others to take advantage of her good grades just to be something more than nothing, always passing homework already done. We had some sort of register (once every x days we changed person who was checking through the classmates) and we had 3 possibilities to forget a book or to do an exercise before getting a bad mark. Once a classmate asked my help because she didn't do her homework and i didn't report her because she said she had forgotten. Another time i skipped an exercise because i was absent and people gave me the wrong number of exercises to do. I literally hate skipping homework, i can't break rules because I'd feel guilty for the rest of my life (still feeling guilty for being scolded from the teacher for having talked with a friend during lesson (i only said yes to give them a tissue lol) but that happened during the second year of ELEMENTARY school). Of course i begged the classmate who was in charge, who was exactly the girl i didn't report, to not report me since i didn't know i had to do it. Obviously, she reported me, but didn't say anything for other people who didn't do them on purpose. It was always like that... Avoided, lonely, forgotten. Looking for me only when they needed help and then bullied. Nobody ever bothered to know me for real, to look who is the real Elena. But no. I thought about suicide so many times and sometimes i would have wanted to be brave enough to commit suicide. I feel broken, like the egg at the end, and like it now I'm showing who i really am. I hope some people will regret having lost me, but I won't go back to those who hurt me EVER. Don't judge a book by its cover, don't judge something for how it looks, don't judge people without knowing them. Who knows what's the beautiful carillon that they're hiding inside.

Yep I need a sequel, where someone repairs it and they find a good home. Please? That was heartbreaking.

It's nice that they kept the ending like that and didn't fall for a forced happy ending.

What a beautiful message it gives. People only see us for how we look on the outside . They decide whether they want to be your friend or keep you near them on the basis of your outer look. They don't discover what you really are in the inside. Eventually you loose hope and become tired of living alone and give up on yourself. And when you're gone they realise what an amazing person you were and that they will never see you again ,that they lost a significant gem in their collection of friends. They realise a little too late, what they have lost .

The “thing” was rejected by everyone, no one wanted him and they sent it to another and another which is a way of the thing asking others out but no one liked him and after that he is in Thrift Store where he commits suicide and the thing inside shows and reveals what and who they are. So you see them worthless but their insides were as prettier than you.

Good grief I can't stop crying-

How can 2.15 min make you cry and teach you the most valuable lesson of life simultaneously.. awesome work..

so many comment but almost no one get the context of the story. It's about suicide. it's about neglect. How someone is taken forgranted. How someone can have the most beatiful inside but nobody notice. Sadly, even I. Nobody's there to open up. To notice. To appreciate. To dicover that ye plays a beautiful music. I am seriously crying right now! I was hoping there would be a happy ending to this and the poor egg found a home where it could be admired, I think these eggs are beautiful, my grandma used to collect them, which makes me cry even more. My takeaway from this is, give someone a chance, you never know what they have to offer, don’t go by their outer appearance or what you think they’re going to be like. While you may think they’re boring, they could be fun and fascinating. I very much relate to this short, feel alone and like I’m never given a chance.

It's not ugly, but the people just don't know about its value. This animation represents about a person who seemed like they're not more than an average person, but actually they have values. It's also represents a person who never understand about theirselves, and always judged themselves by how the people think about them.

I think there’s a happy ending to be had here. Even though the egg attempted to end its life, it’s still functioning. Maybe that’s a metaphor for how sometimes people don’t realize how special someone is till they pass, but I’m gonna choose to believe it means someone’s gonna find him eventually, fix him up, and use him to his full potential.

I think the moral of the animation is that u shouldn't judge someone's outer appearance cuz you'll never know what they've been through, and to everyone out there u don't need no one to feel special, we're all special no matter who says and there's greatness in u, just go an find it

this is heartbreaking yet also the reality of things that little egg i found it to be so damn precious even by just looking at it, it's so cute & adorable i would of taken it & kept it People don't appreciate things & only see what's on the outside not the inside, the inside is what's precious you may look at someone & judge it by its lòok or appearance but the inside is what matters that little egg was so damn precious inside & outside it was heartbreaking seeing as nobody took it or even bothered to examine it more to find the most precious thing inside of it.
