@@brewen_lmrch true, but if it was not necesairy to use metal they would not since metal was stil rare it was more usefull in other tasks

@@gerardmarque4539 I loved my visit to Guedelon a few years ago- I hope to return before too long. So interesting to see all the skilled workers at their various crafts and such a wonderful atmosphere around the whole site.

people have been using a saw for more than 5000 years

They rarely use saws due to them being hard to make is what they said in the show

SnowAngel0303 That doesn’t mean they weren’t used though. But splitting logs and then dimensioning with the side axe were very common I believe.

@@richardsinger01 yeah exactly. in some other video they even said ash was mostly used for wood work at that time since it splits very easily.
