A massive labour of love, a completely, wonderfully mad project, a king's ransom to finance (the roof alone!) but what a spell-binding result. I see someone making a dream come true, salvaging the unique architectural heritage of historical, pre-revolutionary France and turning it into a contemporary decorator's aesthetic wonderland. This is work of the utmost importance to the national heritage of France and to anyone who holds this country dear to their heart. Bravo, bravo, bravo and thank you!!!!
Anytime I need a short vacation from this ugliness we have to endure, I pull up your videos. The beauty, the people and music make it such a treat❤️. Blessings to you all from West Texas, USA.
Wow! Love what you haven't done to the chateau. Taking an archeological approach to the building to lovingly reveal the former elegance and history (scars and all) is the way to go. ... WOI (World of Interiors) really needs to visit you if they haven't already.
Tout le charme et le raffinement de vivre à la française...avec un rien de rustique. Même vos "ruines" restent belles. Bravo et merci de partager de si belles choses. Nous en avons tant besoin.
Love the fact that we can see so much of the original decorations even though incomplete and and zome might say scruffy. There are many other "perfect" restorations but they may gain something but meanwhile lose authentic original feeling. Hope you are able to keep up the good work. Retaining original features even when damaged and incomplete you deserve some grants if you plan to allow any public access.
tom allen ... No it's not a Motel see the original Chateau article here....... ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-fhCv3J7hmFc.html and www.chateaugudanes.com/
C'est très bien et réjouissant pour cette demeure.il y a de la vie des restaurations qui coûtent cher espérons que par la suite la relève soit assuré pour continuer à faire vivre cet endroit
Ahh thankyou for posting so good to see more of your beautiful chateau id love to visit i thinks its incredible the renovations you have done ! Keep up the excellent work 👍🏽😃
Wow! You see the chateaus that are all done up and restored to within an inch of their lives and they’re beautiful. But there is something truely charming and romantic about this building. I love the rooms where you can see a touch of what it was like in its era. I also love that stripped to the bare bones look. Oh my, that furniture. Absolutely gorgeous! It has a real feeling of honesty and take me as I am, this is me old world charm. It’s not trying to be something it not. Just beautiful! To think of the people that may have graced these rooms in its era and its history. I think I was born in the wrong era.🥰
I just found your videos of the chateau! What a dream! I’m sorry financially I don’t have a penny to my name but I pray your hard work will continue and come to fruition. I’m so glad there are people out there that believe like I do. Bring these places back to their former glory. I can FEEL that place in my bones. Thank you! ❤️👍
A place full of magic, I was born and raised in Ariège, I know how much the department was abandonned by its inhabitants, its patrimoine waited to be restored by people like you, bravo pour le travail accompli et bonne chance pour le reste à venir. Je vous souhaite de belles aventures à Gudanes.
Aplaudo a las mujeres que le esta devolviendo la vida a este Castillo, admiro la paciencia y la dedicacion para hacerlo, gracias por compartir este video !!
Thanks for sharing your beautiful adventure. It's exciting to watch the changes, wish I lived in France, I would love to volunteer in the restorations.
So, so beautiful, would love to visit this enchanting place. I too have been following the restoration progress and what a wonderful result so far. You have given life and beauty to the castle.
Inspiring. It is so similar to my house, which also require an enormous amount of work, and often overwhelms me. Great to see someone else embarking on a major restoration project, I definitely need to visit it (also to maintain motivation). :)
There is a distinct Australian aesthetic in what you are doing. Kudos for following your crazy dream. Breathing life into an old girl and her village. Please chronicle your adventure. Best wishes.
I fell in love with Chateau de Gudanes after watching a video on it. I love the color harmonies and the way it sets upon the land. I would love to know more about who the designer was, who built it, how many years it took. It is a most amazing and romantic place. I can only dream of visiting it some day.
With these types of properties you are to immediately perfect the roof, flashing and downspouts and while up perfect the chimneys for safe operation. Then start as many fires for warmth as needed. Then windows and doors. Now you’re ready to do all of the fine detailing.. Been there and done that.. Peace on The Plane Earth Brothers and Sisters
Buying the chateau as it was, massive restoration costs, planning permits to use the chateau as a hotel, restoring al the main services, water Electrics ETC
This is so beautiful! I love the tea set ( can I purchase one on Amazon)? What is the name and maker? I loved seeing the Lady spun wool. I belong to a crochet group and several of the ladies spin their own wool. Thank you for this video and please keep the updates coming.
Chateau de Gudanes, a lovely chateau to stay at for your holiday. 3.500 Euros a week? full board with all meals/drinks? including transfer from/to airport or station?
500 eu a night is not in my budget but if I put myself in there shoes ... I have a airbnb and some people are asking for a lower price (nope is my answer) and some just ask for the place because they see the value. AND my place is 57$ a night !!!
For that money one can stay in a castle that doesn't look like you are in a construction site or in a place falling apart, sorry...nice furniture, music, flowers and pretty pictures of food, don't make a place charming...they just make nice pictures...
Is the the house that the princess of savoy crossed the bridge to come to marry and change over and relax for few days to be married later on to be the sister-in-law of Marie Antoinette?
