Great interview Michael....Chad's story about reading books and listening to tapes since he was 11 yrs old is really incredible. Peace out thanks for the show.
I have a strong feeling that Chad and Jimmie are not done with each other. Absence makes the heart grow fonder and I'll bet dollars to donuts, Mr. H. was just putting a field in fallow for a year or so. There will be a story book ending, where these two will re-unite to capture at least one more championship and maybe more. Mark my words. And place your bets...can't wait...
Sorry but no . In today's Nascar maybe but he is not as smart as say Jr Johnson or smokey Yunick . Or the King's cousin Dale Inman who has 8 championships with two drivers as a crew chief .
@@tripsmore1 Everyone learned from someone. The rules became more complicated and strict over the years. Combined with the constant rule changes, the rules packages and the change in points. Jimmie and Chad have 7. Knaus is a strategist, and a tremendous leader. Knaus is in the same category of Smokey Yunick and Junior Johnson. Brilliant mind.
You got one of the best shows out there I had to laugh when you're talkin about fitting in a race car the first time I ever met you is at Langley Speedway and you are climbing into a little Dash car I'll never forget looking at Pete Babb and laughing
I think we all see what many of us always knew....without Chad Knaus Jimmie Johnson is mortal. The same thing happened with Jeff Gordon when Evernham left, even tho Jeff won another championship and some races, he was nowhere near as dominant as he was from 1995-1999. Had Rusty Wallace been able to keep Buddy Parrot he would have won many more races and likely another championship. People can say and think what they want, a driver does not go from winning championships and races then to barely finishing top 10 suddenly. Sorry, not gonna buy the "Jimmie is older now or Hendrick is behind", no, it is the guy setting up the car etc. isn't there anymore.
They need to put them back together, jimmies team mates get veteran crew chiefs and they give him people that haven’t been crewchiefs or car chiefs ever talk about screwing a great driver, Hendricks didn’t even go a steal oops buy out a veteran crew chief from another team. For some reason they want him to quit racing. I remember a interview they did with Kyle petty after Jimmie won his seventh championship. He made a comment that I thought was strange at the time.they asked Kyle how many more races and championships Jimmie Johnson will win. And he answered so quickly. I’m not worried about him, he’ll never win another race or championship again. He’s done! Guess what everything he said has come true. How do you go from running in the top 5-10 every week to running 15-30th every week something strange going on . That’s why I stopped watching NASCAR every week. Some clue me in on what’s happening would be great.
nascar has lost the public interest. did anyone see the stands for indy? almost empty. i used to watch every race ever televised and had yearly tickets to daytona. then i went to recording and watching the last ten laps. now i dont even bother recording and never watch live. the last straw was when they hitched their wagon to trump.
You should jump on the TRUMP TRAIN !!!! Cause the demacrap party is not for the people !!!!!! I mean if you like having freedom ? Or vote for your rights to be taken . God bless you and America !!!!!!!
