As his transitional presidency approaches its end, Deby is seeking support from Mali, Niger, and Burkina Faso to protect against military coup attempts. Chad's pro-West reputation and close ties with France contribute to this move. Deby's delegation has visited Niger and Burkina Faso to secure support in the upcoming elections and strengthen ties between nations. Chad's objective is to become the fourth member of the alliance as it transitions to civilian leadership. CHAD, would certainly has a difficult time to pursuits Niger, Mali, Burkina Faso, for ONE simple reason, they accepted the U.S. France soldiers they expelled, how are you going to be my friends WHEN you conversating with my enemies????

@@BonsuBigWhale A next options, WHY ALL these African & Caribbean Countries, PUT or written a Law, that any person IF there are NOT forward their education like Graduation from University, they must enlisted in the Military or the Police force, & signed an agreement with other Countries like Russia to supplies them with Military Equipment, then to allow Foreign Military to occupy their Country. To me, that makes GREATER sense. Besides, Africa, have ALL the resources to develop a Nuclear Bombs

I do think the same Chad is likely to join or become a closest ally of the sahel states but they host french troops which is a threat for the alliance and for the continent

Several protests by opposition parties in 2023 demanded that France withdraw its troops from Chad. "Of course we will stay" in Chad, Jean-Marie Bockel, Macron's envoy for Africa charged with discussing France's new military footprint on the continent said on March 7. Why would AES allow a member who welcomes the French troops they kicked out?

This is not true. There has not been any official statements about this. A delegation from Tchad went to see President Traoré but it wasn’t about joining AES.

He's responding to the demand of the people of Chad, and keep in mind that, recently some strong opposition of the west just got assassinated,for sure Chad is not about to take a stand against the Sahel states , it's more beneficial to have a united backing on his land lack States it's a powerful strategic move in the intrest of Africa to have leverage to make a conscious decision, without worrying about any acts of intimidation , it's elementry to adapt to a strong alliance, that's also economically empowered that can take chad to the next level of economic development 😊😊😊😊

Send those old guards home. They must stand back and allow the present generation to oversee their peers and the younger generation as they did in the past. I guess few of them can cope with the pace of modern life today because of age constraint, illness and perhaps lacks the present required educational skills where even the simplest maths and methods in the classroom has changed between generations.

Only speculation. Negotiations will take place and Traore won't be intimidated. Guinea is also being baited by the US. Also speculation. This Chad leader (and the Senegal leader) are young so hopefully their educated minds bring logical conclusions for Sahel and Africa.
