I remember seeing James Brown in concert when I was a Little girl and Chadwick Boseman embodied Jame Brown in this movie. Everything I saw in James Brown, Chadwick Boseman embodied it. When I watched this movie it was as if I was that little girl watching James Brown in Concert. R.I.P. James Brown & Chadwick Boseman!! Well done!!!👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾💯💯💯
I know, if we can go to God and ask him to bring back a celebrity it would be this guy. Not that everyone wasn't loved and appreciated but this guy there is something about him.
I love this movie. He was and is GREAT. His passing still hurts daily. I find myself crying at times. But I know he is in a better place. He is not in anymore pain. You are so missed. 🙏
Mr.Boseman, he didn't disappoint in this role! Like Jamie Fox with the Ray Charles story! You get lost in this story line! Forgetting you are watching Mr. Boseman! One hell of a performance. And we miss both Legends!
To be diagnosed with the most difficult disease you can’t even tell he brung every strength of energy and life into this character in this movie wow🕊🕊💛
Chadwick was something special! He was touched "by an angel"! His light spread around the world! I guess Hollywood or the Oscar's will recognize him posthumously, but they missed a chance to give this man an Oscar while he was living. He played the hell of this role! RIP Chadwick! We love and miss you!
Mr. Chadwick Boseman: A consummate artist actually being praised during a time when he was alive to see and hear it. "Give me flowers yet while I live". Rest in power Mr. Boseman and thank you for caring enough to make your tranformation of Mr. James Brown-funky!
Like Jamie Fox with Ray Charles! Chadwick Boseman owned the part of James Brown! Blew my mind. The way he looked into the camera. Made you feel like the 3rd person going for the ride! Man! I would laugh so hard. You forget it was Chadwick! This dude is crazy funny! And serious. Man you didn't want to piss him off! When it came to his music...... It was a big deal to him! A escape to infinity and beyond!
Chadwick Boseman was such an incredible talent, so was Nelsan Ellis. They both did well in this movie. They were so young with such talent. May they both RIP.
This Man did such a great job as James ! You believe He was James ! Wow. Chad was just Gifted . He came and did what. He had to do in a short time. And He left his mark ! This was a Great Actor.
When I closed my eyes while listening perform, it was surreal. Indeed his performance was prestine on ALL levels! Chadwick Boseman was beyond amazing, his dedication, commitment and talent was impeccable, A true genius!!! Oh, how it pains my soul to know he's on a different realm, he touched and changed many generations! Our beloved Chadwick, we miss and love you beyond words. Thank you for your humility, poise, generosity, loving care for the two young children terminal patients who were patiently waiting for Black Pathers release, how you maintained in touch with them throughout production, and how deeply it affected when you learned of their passing, while you silently were fighting for your life! What a humble selfless kindred soul he had. He didn't like the spotlight, and always embraced his cast members in everything. What a great loss! Prayers and condolences to his beautiful wife and family. Rest In Peace! 🙏♥️🙏♥️🙏♥️🙏♥️🙏
Does ANYONE understand this young man's TALENT, HE played Jackie Robinson, Thurgood Marshall, James Brown, Icons in the black World, not too mention BLACK PANTHER, our God sent us a special Gift, Consider us Blessed!!
Chadwick was such a talented & beautiful soul who I really thought it was James Brown. I know only God knows and I know Chadwick sits in Gods heavens watching & waiting for us to join him. God rest Mr. Brown & Chadwick.
Every person, actor, actress, the crew, the choreographer,,, that participated in this movie was "excellent" a very powerful movie of the **Godfather of Soul** and don't even mention the music, ,it took me back to the greatest times of my life, ,the 60s gee wiz I loved.💞 this movie way,,, before Chadwick Bozeman passed away,,see I'm a moviegoer and me and my daughter and grandson saw this movie when it first premiered 2014,,so I was already familiar with it ,,,Chadwick Bozeman just brought James Brown back alive on stage again. ... And wow now Chadwick Bozeman is gone what a horrible lost,,like one of James Brown songs,,"I lost Someone "a million too one a love one ,,yea we all lost someone now he and the real James Brown are in Heaven talking about their beautiful life on earth was if only.😲 for 1 day,, RIP Chadwick and James, ,you'll never ever be forgotten especially by me.
Chadwick we miss you. You were on loan from heaven and we should look at each other with the love you embodied. Rest in Paradise and Power Forevermore.
As a kid, I practically lived at the Apollo Theatre in New York. I’ve seen James Brown perform live many times. Chadwick Boseman did a fabulous job...I just wish he had done JAMES BROWN’s Baseball skit with flickering lights simulating slow motion.
No music or person has had a greater influence on me than James Brown. Chadwick nailed it!! I was a young white man learning bass in an all black band in the mid 60s and James Brown is what we played. What a way to cut your bass playing teeth! This movie was just fantastic! I'm nearly 70 now and still playing those tunes!
It's crazy how both Nelsan Ellis and Chadwick Boseman are both deceased now. And to think Chadwick found out he had stage three colon cancer in 2016 that means this brother was already dealing with stage two or one during this time probably even while filming Jackie Robinson 😞🌹🥀
I get what Jill was saying she misses the character. Chadwick played James so well and we all know it was just a character so he's not real but she misses him.
I met Nelsan Ellis twice and he was so a nice guy. Crazy thing is their birthdays were one day apart. The were born in the same year. Sagitarrius brothers! RIP
We fell in love with Chadwiick, his smile , his grace, his kindness, humbleness, his Greatness, his sweet spirit, his perfection on everything! Such a brilliant and talented young man! We wanted More, but God, wanted him Most! God picked an Angel !
I find my self not getting enough of him, now that he' is gone, l know I am still in mourning, The death of my people of great talents l love so many thats gone too soon.RIH Chadwick Boesman💕
Chad done a great job as James Brown. He learned the dance moves quick for the part. It made the movie brought James Brown back threw Chadwick. Hollywood always done black actors wrong knowing they done an outstanding role in movie parts. We may have judge Will Smith and his wife Jada for bringing it to attention years ago. To think about it they was right how black actors and actresses are done wrong in Hollywood
I was takened back ,after this great movie, that bosewick had real talent. I was also surprised that Aykroyd really good and Mick products the movie . Awesome!!
J.B.Spirit transfer into C.B.body to make this movie to be awesome for us to know why we call him Godfather of Soul and the Hardest working Man in showbiz. Thank you Thank you Thank you
2020 Horrible year for people of upmost integrity. Kobe Bryant, Chadwick Bozeman, Eddie Van Halen....they all gave it their all. Thank your all for leaving us your legacy for us to honor.
So sad..what a great talent we've lost...I cried morning and night a year ago when I heard Chadwick Boseman had died..Recently my brother died and I didn't shed one tear...How strange...I've never met Chadwick but fell so deeply when I first saw him as James Brown in "Get On Up"..If y'all believe the movie was good you will be surprised that I saw an almost completely DIFFERENT version of the movie in a select theatre that was even better!!..I've been writing Universal Studios who produced the movie since 2014 to release this greater version of the movie..No response..I even went on Mick Jagger's page who was a director back then to voice myself..still no response..RIP Chadwick and Nelsan Ellis..
This is amazing, my love and congratulations to Chadwick Boseman for such a wonderful performance of James Brown and Chad the wonderful person; You have to congratulate someone of this stature, always.
