Chael is such a personality. He completely held court here. He does it so well that not even Andrew is compelled to challenge him. They are all just sitting back along for the ride. Great interview y’all.
He is - Chael was one of my favorite fighters, but anyone that follows MMA knows he's full of shit. The Flagrant guys just don't know enough about MMA to challenge him on anything.
Chael sonnen is the only guy that could say: “I don’t drink, I don’t cuss, I saved myself for marriage but I also did an abundance of steroids and I robbed banks” and it makes total sense to me.
🤣 I Love iT ! I’ve been trying to tell MuFu’s this ish Chael just hurt all these FanBoys feelings out there Chael hurt hella feelings They can’t handle The Truth . Salute My Brother Chael 🫡
Chael tells stories in a tone that is such a perfect mix of utterly ridiculous and totally believable, makes you second guess everything he says but also take his word at the same time 😂.
that tone is scary and funny at the same time lol. The thing he talks about is either gon make you laugh or bamboozled cause you would think this guy is crazy talking nonsense with a serious face. And on top of that he will check you in the middle of the conversation🤣. And if someone cant handle his confidence, his day is fucked like ariel
When your the greatest of all time. They don’t call you the greatest of all time. They call you Chael P. Sonnen! I want to ask Andrew and the cast how it feels to be in the presence of greatness!!!!
I am not sure if it's a talent or a mental illness. The way he can rant about anything and talk about anything. Make up an opinion on whatever in a instant. Feels like he got a good kind of cte 😅😂
He’s great when there’s other people to talk to there physically. But on his show when he’s just talking to a camera he goes on incoherent tangents that lose people’s attention.
Chael seems like the most genuine guy on the planet. He listens to every word that's said and really considers everything. Nothing is a stupid question, he makes you feel like any question is a good question and that's a hard thing to do.
@@raphmula you're right, xradical ruf. us "cringe goobers" need "way more socialization and maturing" for "talkin bout" something being difficult. laughing my ass off off off. go outside buddy, you dont need to convince random people that you arent a loser. its already obvious.

Chael is such a gentleman 👏. I love how even though he talks a million miles an hour, he can cut himself off and acknowledge the rest of the guys and laugh at their joke or dap them up. Love that dude. Great guest, Andrew!
This might be in my top 5 episodes of flagrant. The guys did a great job at sitting back and hosting and letting Chael's character influence the podcast.
Yea man they did great: Andrew has a problem with getting insecure and weird when they have big personalities on and he feels threatened. This was all smooth sailing though. Chael is just undeniably the man. Undisputed and undefeated.
Probably my favorite flagrant guest. I was absolutely glued to my screen listening to him talk. Chael is a superstar in every sense. Hilarious as well Lmaoo
I used to be a Chael hater, I fell right into his trap. But after learning more about the fight business and how it all works from top to bottom, I actually see him as a bit of a genius now. I wish I had recognized it earlier. Chael is in essence, a stand up comedian.
They just played the part of bad guy really well. Most people dont understand the promotion needs a bad guy, a heel, to droce marketing. This is a met positive for ALL fighters, as it drives up their purse. Connor McGregors stage performance for promotions was one of the best things for UFC fighters as it drove up their purse dramatically.
@@Fromtheave gonna be honest I think bro was just trying to show that he knew the difference between mma and ufc, and no I do not believe for one second those bellator fans don’t pay attention to the ufc. They may watch bellator more especially cuz it’s free with showtime, but they absolutely pay attention to the ufc. It’s hard not to
Chael was firing on all cylinders, as usual. To speak so effortlessly, concisely & eloquently, without cursing, & all while being funny & entertaining, is unbelievable. Division 1 All American wrestler, means he spent his whole life growing up, wrestling. Transitions to cage fighting, and unanimously dominates, one of the P4P greats, of his generation ( some say all time ), for 4 1/2 rounds, before getting caught. That means he spent his entire adult life, sparring and fighting. All that head trauma, over all those decades, and he’s still as crystal clear minded as ever. World class & one of a kind 🙌
One of the P4P greats? With a 33-17-1 record and NO championship belts?? lol This has to be one of the most casual-ass exaggerated takes I’ve ever read from a Chael fan and that’s really saying something bc y’all STAY suckin’ on that man’s nutsack. Bruh, I get it that y’all like Chael but even so much as implying that he was one of the greats or that he ‘dominated’ the sport while he was active is dishonest asf. Fact of the matter is that he was a mid-tier fighter with a low fight IQ who had exactly ONE gameplan for every opponent he faced. Sometimes it worked out for him and sometimes it didn’t. At best, you could say that he was a gatekeeper in the divisions he competed in. He was NOT championship-caliber and he mostly elevated his status within the UFC by being available at all times-even on short notice-and being an outstanding trash talker. I love how you MMA casuals try so hard to elevate mediocre fighters like Chael and Conor McTapper to levels they’ve never been on via revisionist history just bc they remind y’all of the WWE promoters y’all grew up idolizing. It never stop being funny to those of us who have been following the sport before Ronda Rousey, Brock Lesnar, Conor, Chael, and CM Punk turned the UFC into the circus it is now 😂.
Slight correction he was almost a minute away from beating Anderson which means 4 4/5 rounds Chael was too humble to mention Anderson’s illegal knee in the second fight(instant dq in all other fights) and the one he did mention Jon’s broken toe. In all three fights he was either a minute or a refs blunder away from being champion
I fucking love Chael...I may have missed his run but I have seen every fight and press conference he ever did... His star still shines years later.... I absolutely love the class, the dedication to his craft, the creativity, and the content, the insight..... Chael is the man, the myth, the legend....
Chaels podcast by himself is okeish, where he really shines is in interviews. This one was so entertaining, literally no boring minute. Undeafeated unbeaten and undisputed, the all weight class champ CHAEL P SONNEN.
2:13:10 the laugh of a man that not only beat the system but OWNED it and took it for all it is worth, and to think i thought he was just a UFC fighter who is good at trash talking, what a legend. Mad props that he even talks about this stuff openly. you gotta respect him.
Easily the best podcast I've heard this year! Informative, entertaining and controversial all at once! Hats off to the boys for just letting Chael do his thing and spill out any thoughts he had. Been waiting for someone to not keep interrupting his gems!👏👏👏
I'm from a hood where the median Income is $23k a year, lower than Camden NJ. Over 400 abandoned buildings & lost more homies than I can count to the streets. That being said I know I couldn't make it in the mean streets of West Linn, Oregon.
Chael gains more and more fans as he speaks the truth about his psychology, I watched every single Chael fight once he touched the UFC and a few before, Chael is a legend. UNDEFEATED UNDISPUTED happy to see you hear
had this on in the background at work. chael is truly a great story teller, his rythmn of speech and emphasis on words, going quiet and then speaking with a staccato phrasing-- its captivating.
I am just amazed by the conviction with which he says stuff, you don't know if he's lying or telling the truth. No wonder his opponents took the insults personally, the guy talks in a way where you just believe him. It's mind blowing.
I was training mma, and I never really had serious aspirations to be a fighter but I would fantasize what if a year from now, I got really good then maybe. I thought about how I would handle promo/social media. When I saw Chael going around saying he never lost a round and was like 27-0 and he was walking around holding the MW ufc belt I thought you could lock me in a room with the best wwe writers and I could never come up with that and stopped training mma forever.
Best episode of flagrant..chaels energy is a great addition here, if Andrew and chael did a show together about the business side of mma/boxing would be a huge hit
😂😂😂 THANK U FOR CONFIRMING MY THOUGHTS. WHAT GETS REALLY GETS ME IS HE HAD SO MANY OPPORTUNITIES TO DISPLAY HIS GREATNESS AT PIN POINTING A STORY WITH A SIMPLE " OF COURSE YOU COMEDIANS CAN FIND ME HARD TO BELIEVE BY THE FACT THAT NOT ONCE WERE ANY OF YOU UNDERSTANDING MY SUDDEL,YET VERY IN YOUR FACE CLUES, OF HOW I AM IN NEED OF SOMETHING TO DRINK U FOOLS!! "
I love listening to Chael tell stories. He seems like a very genuine person, and like someone anyone could just have a beer and chat about anything with. Then I see clips of the old Chael working his heel act…and I’m not sure if I could ever trust anything he says 😂
Please bring Chael on again. It’s always great as a longtime mma fan to see legends in interviews, but he’s one of the greatest story tellers of our generation. Dude can literally make anything interesting. We love you Uncle Chael!
Most entertaining podcast i've ever watched. I've never watched a podcast from start to finish without stopping multiple times. I didn't stop once. Great stories.. not sure if they're all true but was great entertainment.
Wild story, a good friend of mine from Westlinn Oregon had a younger brother that was diagnosed with some type of terminal cancer. I don’t remember exactly what type of cancer he had specifically but he looked up to Chael and was really into his wrestling and when his fights when he was first coming up in the game. Anywho he wanted to meet Chael and supposedly make a wish foundation reached out and Chael hung out with that kid for a week straight. Not sure how valid the story is but I was a fan ever since.
This was one of my favorites. Chael is super interesting and engaging, loved all of it ! Not even in love with the sport, but his personality and presence captivated my attention!
Chaels youtube channel is a goldmine. This is a master entertainer at work. I've been listening to him for years but he's really tapped into a new dimension over the last year or two. This is truly a master who is dedicated to his craft
42:51 This small exchange from Uncle Chael to Andrew is so human, just him asking because of his own grief over his own dad's passing and he wanted to see where Andrew's head was at with his own experience.
I am very surprised, this is the best podcast I have seen in a long time and I am an avid watcher of JRE. Awesome Job, you guys are getting a lot better at hosting.
Chael took the advice "never let the facts ruin a good story" to heart. Once the panel realized that it was awesome. He literally tells everyone that he plays a character to sell tickets. He tells the audience he studied Kaufman and pro wrestling. From the beginning he lets you know this performance art. Yet, he blends the gimmick and reality in a way that leaves some people wondering and others completely marking out.
The money laundering scam was one of my favourite Chael lore stories, too see it fleshed out and explained filled me with joy. 1 more in the win column and 1 more for the bad guy Ps noguira could totally make a buisness out of charging Chael fans to take a picture with him feeding them a carrot in their mouths and retire and live happily ever after with that money
what I like about Chael's trash talk is that it's basically like a comedy routine, and lighthearted. Kind of like a late night talk show host in that it's about real people who aren't asking to be made fun of. So you have to pick who you make fun of and act a certain way. This "code" is exactly how talk show hosts and other comedians describe this.
