How do you let go of shame and guilt when it's constantly held over your head.. when you are reminded every day of your sin. How do you stay strong enough in the word?
I was hoping he would actually teach how to break shame in one's life. Instead he just said what many of us already know...JC came to break the chains. Yeah...thanks... But that's what most preachers do anyway, just tell and not teach.
James 5:16 " Confess your sins so that you may be healed" Im not saying go out and tell everyone, im saying hiding your sin keeps you trapped in the lie that you are not free. I myself was trapped in shame for 8 years, and only did i surrender myself to God and confessed my sins to my church family did i truly find freedom. And i mean my church family, not some priest that once i told him I was free. Confide in your fellow believers, your friends and family that are led by the spirit so that they may support you and remind you that regardless of the sin that nothing can separate you from the love of god. Keep seeking after the lord, keep praying and getting into his living word. What Louie is trying to show you in this message is that he is proving to you that you are free. Take to heart what the word is saying about guilt and shame, and in that is freedom.
