Brilliant tip at 3.51 minutes, where Eddie tells us exactly WHY a simple number in a function doesn't affect the gradient. I've done many derivatives before in questions, but only now do I understand why simple numbers disappear (in a "concrete" sense as opposed to it just being because of the way the "power" attached to any simple number being x to the nought)

Kudos for using the U-substitution method for the chain rule, rather than the messy form f(g(x)) = f'(g(x))*g'(x) . I find U-substitution to be much easier to remember, plus it ties in better when you start doing the "Reverse Chain Rule" for integrals.
