I thought the consequence of each behavior/step serves as the sd for the next step and reinforcer for the previous step? I think here you are saying the second behavior is a reinforcer for the previous step...
The first step there is no behavior to be the SD for it so the SD is whatever SD in the enviornment that created the chain. So the Second step is the first behavior in the chain where the preceding step is the SD.
