I have another video using this motor on an outboard lower setup as a surface drive if interested ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-SDBDYqu_1Mo.html

@InTransitGaming

@@DktheWelder everywhere, normal launches aren't so common unless your in the big tourist areas. I am going with a N/A K24A with a jetski pump on a 3.6m hull. The goal is to take it on the mehkong river along the north border then transfer into the chi river system, and tow the occasional biscuit in the lake.

Looks like fun! I’d actually go to a more aggressive pitch but much smaller diameter the prop you are using could cope with 5x the power the Stihl has! id try something closer to 80-90mm dia and 19-21p also if the blades leading edge is deeper it will give more traction and less lift

@@DktheWelder cool! I’m keen on this type of project! Ever considered an air pump to bubble stream under hull? I’ve used an air mattress pump on my kayak which is powered by rc boat engine/pope line trimmer and on my old hydroplane made from 4x205l drums and it helped it get on the plane substantially, it’s also the method used on the first ever boat to get on the plane

Mate, good job 👍 love your work. You got some good access to amazing tools too, pretty jealous. Bloody propellers 🤦‍♂️🤦‍♂️, it’s the most important piece sometimes. If your like me, you won’t give up, just another hurdle to jump, makes the wins even more impressive. Can’t wait to see what you come up with for the prop mate, unfortunately I haven’t seen a right hand mud prop. That 5hp prop is probably about a 8 pitch?? Wonder if you could back it off a bit by bending the leading edge up (block of hardwood with rounded end and a hammer) Just bend the leading edge up a little, it will reduce pitch, try to keep the blades as similar as possible. Leave the trailing edge alone for now. Also the stock alloy prop won’t be that great for surface piercing unfortunately unless it has a small cup added to the trailing edge which will add pitch 😢 I would try back it off and see what it does first. Thanks for your videos mate, awesome 👏 Cheers 🍻 Aussie Boat Guy 😎

I think your motor doesn't have the weight and torque to be able to drive your dinky dingy! Gas weedeater engines have the RPM, but not the brute muscle torque to spin an agressive prop. Some weight before the prop might help some, and brass bushings with crater grease might help more. Very nice idea, with much more development in order. Someday you might make money selling kits as used weeder engines are practically a dime a dozen right now. I have four from other garage sales that I bought for projects. None cost more than $10 each.
