Thermal saws are even more powerful than electric saws. The XP372 has a displacement of 70 cm3 and 4100 watts of power.👍

For ICE, if you want more power you just make a larger ICE and it delivers more power. From 2-cycle chainsaw to 750cc Kawasaki to 200hp air cooled plane engine. You could follow the same strategy. For Battery, there will come a much lower point where your strategy needs to change. Adding more cells beyond 'power tool' levels requires an entire active cooling strategy. Ask ourselves: WHY DO THEY COOL THE BATTERIES WHILE CHARGING BUT NOT WHILE RUNNING FULL BLAST???? Major oversight. Cost/weight add.

Can you please give me your input, id really appreciate it. I live on a forested property and always have the need to fell trees to thin or because they die. I am trying to decide between gas and battery. 60-70cc gas such as the husky 372 or the greenworks commercial battery. Im curious which you prefer since you have both you are using in this video. Battery life is not an issue for me since I usually cut 1 tree at a time and process. I dont spend all day cutting. Wondering how the 2 compare. Greenworks saw doesn't look like it has felling sights. Also I wonder if it would be well balanced like the professional gas saws.

I don't have much experience felling trees, so I can't help with what saw is better in that respect, but I definitely like battery for the ease of use and because sometimes my saw will sit unused for periods of time. If I wasn't invested in a battery line already, I would get the Greenworks 60v 20 inch chainsaw kit. It's only $500 and comes with an 8ah battery and charger. The warranty is 4 years also which is twice a long as the 82v commercial line warranty. The power difference is minimal between the 60v and 82v. The 82v comes with a 4ah battery which isn't really enough to properly power the saw, so you'll need to get a bigger battery if you go that route. Ego has better parts availability, but it costs a bit more.

Hi again, one last question 😉 wich batteries life time is better? Ego or Greenworks? I found s lot of complains about Ego batteries to fail after 2-3 years. How long do you run your greenworks 82v batteries?

I haven't had much personal experience with the Ego for longevity. So far my Greenworks batteries have done well. I warrantied one, but it was right away.

I picked up a 20 inch XCut but didn't realize it's an 80 link chain and the stock Greenworks bar takes a 78 link chain. Do you think I could mount a slightly larger sprocket to take up the slack? Where do you find compatible sprockets? I'm running the stock .325 bar and don't want to change to 3/8. I could drill another tensioning hole in the stock bar but I'm afraid of oil leak issues.

There is an 8 .325 sprocket that has a larger diameter. It will bring your chain speed to 30m/s

@@reusefull Thanks, I'll give it a try, hopefully the higher speed/lower torque doesn't bog down the saw too much. I'm still limping along with the 4Ah battery 🤬

@JRP3 yeah... that's gonba be tough on a 4ah. Probably nothing to big or you'll have to go really light with the pressure.

Hey I know you have done some warranty stuff and the 4ah I have is giving me issues not charging and not running my saw I’m in Canada so how do I go about getting warranty?

If I got it from a dealer, I call the dealer. If I got it online, I call Greenworks Commercial... there's no option for consumers, so I think it's the dealer option. Then they usually tell me who the closest dealer is and ask me to bring them the broken item so the dealer can verify that it's broken, then the dealer warranties the broken item through Greenworks. Kind of a suck process, but that's the way it has gone so far.
