This is chicken feet and I just don't understand what is the problem. I am quite sure 9 out of 10 can do it. Or at least for Asian men. This is really bullshit to say the least.
It’s all about the distance you are from the wall, women generally have smaller feet so are closer to the wall, I tried this with my wife and as we both moved back to the same distance we both couldn’t lift it. It is because at the angle you are and slightly forward towards the wall you cannot lift any weight due to the fact there are no muscles you can use at that angle to stand up, when you try the only muscle that starts to tense is your calves
As a man, who tried this, I can tell you, men can do it. I'll explain how it works. It's about leverage and spine to pelvis, lock in. Men have longer torsos than women. So the spine locks more at an angle, from the pelvis. Second, by default, women have more developed leg mucles. Scientists think it's related to birthing children. The legs are crucial for the leverage. So, a man, by default, having a longer torso, creating a stronger spine to pelvis lock... And less developed leg mucles, by default... Will struggle like hell to make it happen. Solution? Develop more muscle in the back and legs. Us body builders have no issue with this challenge.
@@nicolaas1122 The claim is that men can't do this, and women can. Your statement implies weight/pressure, along with foot coverage, being the determinating factor. Every individual varies in weight, and foot size. Weight doesn't determine length of feet, and length of feet doesn't determine weight. The action consists of a lower back to pelvis, pivot. The back is doing the motion. The feet stay stationary. It's similar to a straight leg, deadlift. Your conclusion is illogical.
Don't be ridiculous, on what planet is this research from? Women have more developed leg muscles than males? Women have almost no musculature on their legs, look at any MRI or CT scan, it's a thick layer of subcutaneous fat on tiny stips of muscles, its; why their legs look smooth and shapely. men have thick slabs of muscle on their legs, without the fat, which is why they sometimes look like chicken legs, they still have far more muscles than females. This is all about women having tiny feet relative to their bodies which puts them very close to the wall in the first place and then very tin, extremely light torsos, which means they only have to move a small mass a very short distance, it's a more favourable leverage situation. Men have to move half their body height, with double the mass a much further distance, they'll be around 3 feet from the wall to start with.
I also do not understand what is the challenge here. I even used a weightier chair. The only obstacle here is that your center of mass is moved to your toes, which makes it hard not to fall forward, but there is no lifting problem due to weight or muscle.
I can do it rather eas at that distance, but I tried a bit further back and its impossible. At a certain angle your calves hold your torso and thats the point where not even very good hip / back muscles can save you
A male "foot" is much bigger than a female's. foot. Taking two foot lengths back has the man already leaning forward too far to stand up WITHOUT THE CHAIR!. He had to move his arms back to begin obtaining any "balance" condition. But people don't like an analysis like this that actually provides a "fact-based" explanation. .
This was part of an All In The Family episode. Archie thought it was a trick edith, gloria and mike were playing on him. The 3 of them had a good laugh with it.
@@RichWitGame Muscles are essential for movement as they contract and relax, generating the force needed to move bones and joints. When your brain sends signals to muscles, they contract, pulling on bones and causing movement. Without muscles, the body wouldn't have the ability to perform voluntary actions like walking or reaching. Muscles also play a crucial role in maintaining posture and supporting internal organs, highlighting their fundamental role in overall body function.
@@thesandman8669 I didn't say muscles weren't involved. Obviously all movement requires muscles. The point is that there is nothing about women's muscles that allow them to do the movement. It's the fact that they have smaller feet in comparison to their torso which makes where they stand, closer to the wall.
Na tom není nic divného. Taky jsem to dal. Uznávám, že se mi krásně napnuly zadní stehna, ale jinak to šlo. Ono záleží na délce chodidla, váze, výšce a tak. Není to ale nic, co by nezvládli chlapi
My science experiment. First I had a man and a woman each take three steps back from the wall, put their head against the wall, lift the chair, and stand up. She could. He could not. But why? I got out a tape measure and measured the distance from the wall to their heels. His was 36”. Hers was 24”. I had her try at 36”. She couldn’t even REACH the wall with her head. I had him try at 24”. He could do it easily at 24”. I had each of them try at various distances (from heel to wall) to find the “tipping” point. It was 31” for both of them. At 31”, they both succeeded. At 32”, they both failed. Try it yourselves.
in this video you can clearly see they are both standing in the exact same spot, each with their toes about an inch ahead of the third floor tile line. compare 0:14 with 0:36. standing with their feet in the exact same spot, she does it easily and he cannot do it.
@@ashleyl3699 A couple of points. Be sure to measure the distance from the back of the heel to the wall, not from the tip of the toe to the wall. In this video, the man’s heel is slightly farther away from the wall, though admittedly not by much, but in my experiment, one inch more made all the difference. Second, if there are any students out there that need an idea for a school science fair project, I think this would be excellent, fun, and would generate a lot of interest.
Mě to taky šlo.
All about the center of mass. Men's upper body tends to be heavier than women's. Therefore, the center of mass is higher on men. When you incline in that manner, at a certain point your body's center of mass stops lining up with your feet. At that moment, gravity torques your body forward and makes it impossible to pull your torso up from that position without first helping yourself with the wall. I was able to do it, without shoes. With shoes, after 2 steps my feet were so far from the wall that I couldn't touch my head to the wall without leaning forward. And at that point it was plenty obvious I'd be unable to leverage my torso back even without the chair.
All depends on ur feet size! Women have smaller feet so it's easier as ur closer to the wall. If u get a guy with small feet he would be able to do it.
Men CAN do this. Put your toes the same distance away from the wall as the prior woman. Men have bigger feet which the two steps puts them farther away from the wall altering leverage and center of gravity. Has everything to do with the size of feet.
We had friends over and I tried it I did it first try then my dad did it on 4th try my mom 1st try the girl friend that was over -I don’t want to say the name- did it 1st try as well but the guy friend was not able to do at all so I just think it is certain men
The secret is that women have higher legs/torso ratio than men. That is they have longer legs compared to their upper body. They also have generally way less mass on their upper body than men and more on their legs. It makes the leverage they have to deal with much shorter and much smaller and their center of gravity is closer to the wall.
@@angelsrosena yeah he isnt saying they can't have large feet, he is just saying that typically men have larger feet than women because of growth hormones.
Men have better odds if they try this without wearing shoes. You will be some inches close to the wall and you can most probably lift the chair just like females.
We have gotten way more gullible as humans, I blame TikTok, only this stupid crap I did, my 70 yr dad did, my mom can’t and lo and behold she is out of shape
Most of these comments are WRONG. The reason men cannot do it is their feet are longer in relation to their height than women are. Case closed, It's not weight, strength, build or anything else. I can do it if I take the steps but then move about one inch closer. Women cannot do it if they move back about one inch. Like I said - case closed.
Most Men can't do this because there center of gravity is chest the point where their body weight is concentrated while most women can do this because women have larger hips and then men, and their center of gravity is in hips and pelvic area.
Need to have a man and women do it standing in the exact same spot .. men are taking bigger steps back putting them further from the wall making it harder to stand up. If a women goes back further she won't be able to stand up either.
I can do it fine but only because I have really short legs and a long torso, so lifting something means I have less distance to pull it up to, a lower center of gravity, and I probably have a relatively strong core due to having the body of someone who's 6'4" and the legs of someone who is 5'8" 🤣🤣 just did this with a rather heavy box with absolute ease, bless the gorilla physique🦍🦍
It's because men's center of Gravity is his shoulders and the woman's is her waist. That's why men can't do it. If you CAN'T pick up the chair you're NOT a chick. Done.
This is stupid its because men are mostly legs so when they do it they have to lean farther and have to slightly lift their heels off the floor which then means all their weight is put into their head and not their heels meanwhile for women their mostly torso so they dont have to lean meaning their weight is not being held up by their head but by their feet , thank you and goodnight
Is this to do with the angle of the pelvis and hips, or maybe the centre of gravity? Which of course is completely different in men and women. In any event, it’s proof that men and women are not the same and you cannot “identify” as something you’re not.
That's stupid. People can't do the chair challenge therefore they should be forced to live their lives a certain way just because they happen to have a certain set of genitals or DNA? Ridiculous.
you can see that the guy has a gap after second step which is crucial in this so called test, girl even cheats a bit by slightly side stepping, every inch matters in this case, i was able to repeat it bare foot, while wearing slippers i failed because it added that slight distance and i have size 10 male (US) i bet guys with small feet can easily do this
