Very good control of time by the chairman. No waffling on allowed here! And he does nice summaries of what has been said/agreed. I would say that it all seems rather 'starchy' and formal, but if thats the way they like it, then so be it.
I have never been to a meeting quite like this in over 40 years in business. While the standard of English is good, and it's close to the textbook format of a meeting, it in no way represents the dynamics of a real life meeting. It must be remembered that in business, like in our personal lives, egos, prejudices and hidden agends have a significant influence. Therefore there is always a degree of emotion displayed, even during the often "dry" business meeting.
This seems to be a very British style meeting- a lack of small talk. Americans may tend to make more personal small talk at the beginning of the meeting. I like how structured and organized this meeting is.
Jennifer Kumar .... yes agree play time is over , get straight to business , small talk is over while the board is in operation. That’s more professional to conduct it in this way . Very well done I thought. 👍
@@fishmut I haven't seen your comment until today! They have done a good job in this role play. It's a good ideal to strive to, though as others have noted, not sure how realistic it is or how often it actually happens that way!
LEVO Media They're only boring to the intelectually handicapped who think that anything that does not involve predictable car chases, superheroes flying and parents shrinking their kids is boring. If you happen to own a brain, you'll notice that "boring" suddenly becomes "inteligent" and "creative".
Staff meetings are less democratic and more autocratic for the purpose of a high yield out come often.chair person often is the boss who in some case is the owner as well. owner who is more enterprising and responsible thus hold all the say .autocracy too ultimately a form of symmetric way of being organized.
If you're going to have a tutorial, it's best to insert point of learning along the way: purpose, invitees, agenda, , conflict/resolution, outcomes, etc....
Latinos would have taken 20 mins to talk about the weekend, the last football match, business stuff, and some jokes and gossips... all of that, if we are on time :D
Good video, I am about to chair a meeting for the first time; first time for everything right? hh. I Fear not for God is with me. Thanks for video, God bless.
By far the strongest message of the meeting is: "At all costs we will refrain from expressing any actually amount of care or emotion investment in any topic. Humanity is not invited to this meeting" They call meetings soul sucking for a reason. Further having an outsider deliver an important and potentially controversial analysis in the middle of the meeting is a train wreck. Hard to believe anybody seriously likes this except as an example of fatuous allegiance to form over substance. UGH!
My meeting notes: Follow the Meeting Agenda - Showing acknowledgement and appreciation to teams - Engaging other members to comment on issues - Limiting discussion time on a specific topic - eliciting dialog and discussion but limiting detail discussions ( Relocation costs - major cost burden on IT dept ) Q. One person was taking meeting notes ? Are these to be shared in a meeting email ? Meeting closure: should have a summary of action items Ideally, there is a projector showing agenda and meeting notes / actions. :)
its really Excellent video clip, I will be planning to couch a meeting regarding initially; first-time regarding almost everything proper? hh. My partner and i Dread not necessarily regarding The almighty has been myself. Thank you regarding video clip, The almighty bless
What did the chairperson say before he asked has everybody got an agenda? Can anybody enlighten? Can't figure it out, despite listening to it many times. Cheers.
"We have everyone here apart from John in facilities, but we have apologies from him". If you're chairing a meeting, it's standard to expect those who can't attend a meeting (whether the whole meeting or part of it) to let you know in advance - this is known as 'sending your apologies'.
where is all the chatter, side conversations, tangential topics, excuses, jokes, disagreements and outbursts? how about showing how a real manager deals with those. thanks but this sucks
