The guy on the right, in the red sport coat. That's how I would have danced, if I had the nerve. But I didn't because I was afraid of making a fool of myself. But watching him now, and realizing how much fun he is having makes this old man regretful. Oh, to be young again.

Oh man, good memories. I remember my white go-go boots, big hoop earrings, and the miniskirts. This song had everyone on the dance floor. Just moving to the music having fun. Forget if we had rhythm or not. It was fun - heads bobbing and legs kicking. I could watch these people just grooving. Yep we always loved to look down at our feet. You can’t just sit there without getting up from the table and filling the small dance floor. Ya’ll know you remember - 1970 was only 50 years ago. I love General Johnson’s vocals at the 3:29 and 4:18 mark points!!!

What a great song. We absolutely loved what we called "beach music" back in the early 80's. We would dance the night away to The Chairmen of the Board, The Embers, The Clovers, The Golden Medallions, etc. Man, I miss those days...

One of my favs from Chairmen of the Board. I was a 15yr old white girl who loved Motown tunes and The Rolling Stones. Soul, Blues and R&R were the 60s & 70s. Times were simple yet America was still dealing with Civil Rights issues and Viet Nam. But music help keep me sane. Thankfully I never got into the drug scene yet the late 60s were a drug culture. Fashion was fun and times were the BEST with Motown & the British Explosion.. I'm fortunate to stay trim, healthy eating mostly Vegan, exercise, no cigarettes, still dancing, having sex & laughter to try to LOVE a happy life. I couldn't have done it without my Motown R&R tunes, dance, art, classic movies & the sweet unconditional love from my kind animals throughout my 50 decades of living. Loved the 70s of my youth. ❤️❤️❤️

I was 15 years old in 1970 as a white boy and I still sing that song today I'm 68 and a 1/2 I think LOL I got my brothers that are much younger at work singing it now

This is how we grooved at northern dance clubs in the early/mid 70s before disco hit. After working all week, we just wanted to enjoy our weekends hanging out with friends or a significant other … There was no shame in our game back then, as very few of us were great dancers. Just get on the floor and let the great music take you on a trip…….. If you were lucky, you got a few phone numbers or maybe went home with someone,,,, If not there was always next week!!!….. It’s called making memories, cause in the end, that’s all you got!!!!!

I'm in my Mid Seventies....and was the Lead Vocals in a Band that Played the North Side Night Clubs in Oklahoma City for Many years.. I was Singing that Song as it Charted....it was very Important to get that Song Right.... A Great Snapshot...of Great Music and Great Times... Wow..!

Time. Wow I missed my Bros. Just 2 of us, Dads & Mom old. I don't tear NO more but smile. Set the folks down, live & carry for my grandkids. Never did they see, character of music in the beginning I knew. Oh well. Last week we buried a 26 yo cousin, so young. Life is precious, I know because I am a USMC grunt. See my Marines lost their loves so young, I still have image of their smiles. You don't forget. I learned alot, I love my wife, my girls, grandkids. My mom dearly, my dad.
