the thing that makes Chaka's singing so satisfying is her ability to cover both the bottom n top notes equally good..listen to her croon effortlessly on the low notes on the verses..n then she moved up the octaves n completed the climax with her strong brassy wails..she builds through the song with strong conviction..only old school singers have the ability to do that.

what's amazing is the how low she start the song, almost baritone low and then run it all the way to soprano. Most soprano could not hit that last high note that Chaka hit in mostly her chest voice.

Without a doubt! One of the reasons I would get pissed back in the day is cause the djays wouldn't play all of the tunes on the album. Chaka was so impressed with these BGV's that at 3:35 she sings "Oh, go on girls, sing it. You better sing it girls". Then proceeded to sing to them. Very impressive set of singers right here. Great job!!!!

I have heard this 1000 times and will hear it another 1000 before I leave this Earth. I was at this taping which was at a studio as part of the House of Blues music series. I will NEVER forget what the room sounded like when those 4 women hit those soprano notes In perfect harmony like angels from the heavens. The whole audience was in goosebumps. The rest of the concert was equally amazing
