cool dude like your style Ive been meaning to get into meteorites too. Music is going pretty good too with some of the friends I made with it love music rocks anything exploratory
Chert is a chalcedony formed in the ocean but there are many rocks chalcedony can be a part like volcanic basalt or bloodstone as a mineraloid it can agatize a variety of stones
I have heard that black onyx is rare some people like my rockman or wikapedia will say you need lines in it to be able to identify it as onyx because onyx means bands. the tiny piece i found is actually a piece of gravel i found in a planter next to the street. although tiny it is jet black and clearly shows quartz banding which proves its actually a quartz variety. there is a large group for jet black rocks and it gets complicated i should make a video to further confuse us all
My friend barenaked stones on RU-vid hunts there his green rocks do seem pretty cool I will figure out where gem hill is I stay in orange county near diamond bar
can you find a better piece of onyx with out the looks like quartz vein in it the stuff I get is just jet black nothing else I have had 2 pieces looked at again just jet black you don't have any grey chalcedony write back
oh I need more info on how to identify the chalcedony not all of the pieces have a conchoidal fracture I have 32 pounds of natural black chalcedony (black onyx) I picked up 4 pieces on the side of the road the Sunday that just pasted jet black rock as black as the stereo your rocks are on
