You don’t know why they memorize all this stuff. The challenge clearly explains, this process. Your thoughts shared don’t help people understand the whole methodology of the three learning processes. That sheds a negative light on this wonderful curriculum .The drawings build up to the next levels the same as in foundations. That is why they learn where everything is first. Then when they have that knowledge hidden away and memorized. They don’t have to start and look places up when they are studying culture and history so much.
The books chosen all build upon each other as you progress through the challenge program. Each literary selection is selected for different kinds of concepts learned and taught as well as historical accuracy, when you change things around you miss out on the ideas and concepts being emphasized. There is a reason behind every selection.
can you do a flip through of Lost Tools, the Ani Chart example, and maybe even show clip of videos (if you purchased them) We are thinking of using this curriculum in 8th grade and I am wondering if using the ani chart and videos ONLY (no other resource) will help with book studies and essays on the books. I would only need it for that.
I'm sorry I wasn't able to show videos. I'm not that tech savvy. 😄 We watched about 3 of them and all of them were a guy at a board outlining the examples.
You're welcome. I've other people do that but I dont have any personal experience to share. If I had to do it again, that's the route I'd go. Henle is painfully dull.
Hi! We are learning more about CC and contemplating starting next year. I would have one in Challenge A and three in Foundations/Essentails. How parent heavy is the instruction in the Challenge A course?
Our director encouraged the kids to do everything on their own. This backfired in our house but other kids in her group were fine doing it all independently. I'd go with what you and your student is comfortable with....not necessarily what the director says or what the other kids are doing. We did not have a good result from challenge A so I'm a bit salty but I wish you all the best!!! Essentials is amazing though!!! Have a great year!!!
I know this is extremely over due. Sorry about that. There was a lot of conflict in our community. So much hatred from the parents/tutors. I wouldn't put my girls back in that environment. My girls are in public school now and doing amazing. The teachers are so nice, helpful, knowledgeable and truly want each student to succeed!!!
@@RobnsGals No worries, we have enjoyed CC for 9 years now. It’s not for everyone. The tutors are not responsible for teaching your kids science in classical conversations. They merely review the material. It’s always made clear that it’s the parents’ job to teach, the tutors only review. We always did our curriculum that we chose and CC supplemented it and gave them a wonderful community- I’ve been in 4 due to moving and schedules and they have all been wonderful and supportive. I’m so sorry yours was not! I’m glad to hear your girls are thriving also! Thanks for your reply!
