Challenger MBT: Tracked Fortress 

The problem is its mobility isn't even that bad the tank can really move in real life and hold its speed while turning something which in game if u do it just stops.

I wrote to them on their website about this issue, but as a result, they didn’t post my comment. Nice move, Gaijin. Russian bias, go go!!!

@@arron4749 The Abrams having a longer reload after 1st stage is meaningless because the first stage it the area in the back of the turret which hold plenty of rounds for an entire match. Like wise the Leo 2s and Type 10s only having blow out panels for 15-16 shots isn't a problem, because you won't need more than that in a standard match. Basically everyone leaves after one death so its unlikely you'll encounter more than three enemies and if you need more then 5 shots per enemy it won't matter how big your ammo reserve is because aiming like that means you won't last long enough to use it. While you may be right that some other tanks have worse reload, or armour, or whatever else, the Chally has, or is tied for, the worst of all of them at the same time on one tank.

I want a reallife Chally 2 cause than any other tank ingame can go take his stuff and leave haha cause Chally is stronger then Leo2A6 now proofen in Ukrain. Stronger than Abrams, cause they fight over years the Same weaponery. and Chally 2 didnt explode from a Tow rocket like the Trashcan Us tank.

@@fernandojohnsen7639 the challenger hasn't yet been used by ukraine in combat and Leo2A6 failed due to lack of air defense/air superiority.

@@Achillobator85 When Chally 2 Joins the Comabt its the Same Firepower he has to defend like in Iraq oder Kosovo. And its a Fact that the Swinez 2 Round did not Penetrate his Armor Parts. Of course maybe he get destroyed in Ukrain, I mean the Leo got destroyed cause no Air support. Btw. CHally 2 fight 4 years without Air Support in Iraq but dont matters cause Mines and hundret of Rocket or 3BM42/46 round who are fired into his armor but yeah. Chally 2 Survived Cause he has the strongest Armor. Able to destroy any Nato Tank include Chally 2 but only in his Weakspots wich mean Driver Spot and Lower hull. Thats a Fact. Leo and Abrams are completely Fucked cause they have only Turret armor wich get not Penetrated by this Round.And Abrams is maybe a lag too when its the M1A1 cause the First really strong Abrams was the M1A2 Tusk 2.

yeah gaijin does this to alot of tanks like a deliberate nerf. its not good gameplay to treat breaches and there armour like paper and have them shot out every 10 seconds people should have to actually aim not get cheap kills. one of the most annoying for me is the fv4005 breach that when a single 50cal touches is knocked out yet the bloody things thicker than most tanks armour.

All MBT's in War Thunder have nerfed breach armour. If the Challenger gets proper breach armour all other MBT's should get it as well.

@murkser4149 Of course, these are weak points in the game. However, the Challenger's, compared to the likes of the Leopard and the T80/90's (as an example), is unreasonably massive and unrealistic. You don't even need to try and shoot the weak points around the Challenger's breach. It's so big that it takes up about 1/3 of its frontal turret armour.

​@@p3rranIt's also a massive weakspot on Type 10, Leclerc, ZTZ99A, Ariete, etc. As I said, if they buff it on Challenger buff it on these tanks as well.

Not to mention Gaijin refuses to listen to the leaked top secret documents that would take the Chally to immortality

It's red team bias because that's where most of the cheaters and hackers are and they are all nearly PC users. There needs to be separate services for console and PC users.

@@lastswordfighter i play on PC and i have never ever seen anyone cheating. Its just significantly easier to play WT on PC and the skill gap between pc players and console players is noticeable BUT what the snail needs to do is make a GROUND BATTLES actually be ground battles instead of CAS battles

@@Ritsu_Kuriaki yes I agree it is absolutely ridiculous like it's atleast 200mm thick then plus you have the composite armour back plate. And when you add it all up plus the tanks side hull armour it should be atleast 30mm apfsds proof of not 40mm and with the configuration that TES is in, it should stop Tandam warheads so it should should be pretty much immuned from every sort of chemical ammunition in the game !!

It works 50/50. I've been swarmed by T-72's, T-80's, and leopards and survived while not being able to move and can fire back

Armour in top tier is something, sometimes you survive without a scratch and sometimes you just explode

I dont about that one when i first got the chally 2f i was able to eat missles and side shots

armor doesn't matter after cold war, everything is able to be 1 shot

@@Gears-2 thats probably because Gaijin has nerfed it semi recently, took out all the armour plating in the side of the turret and made the ufp weaker

Why Just fix the Entire Tank line. Chally 1 and Chally 2 I mean dude Gaijin Massacred the Tank over 7 times until he is now Useless

I also love playing Chally 2 but Chally 2 is easier to die than Chally 1 and I hate that

not just armour but its mobility especially when turning as well as its turret traverse and gun elevation speed. theres also the wet bins that prevent the charges from exploding in a way that would kill the crew easily but this isnt modelled. and now with the apds changes most of the mid tier stuff is rubbish like the conqueror especially i bounce or shatter leo 1s endlessly.

Its armor wasn't even "the world's best" the year it was built... M1A2's is stronger, on the turret at least

Big shame about the armor but the weaker dart makes sense because it uses a rifled cannon which due to the fins of an APDSFS round causes it to act like paddles in the air

550mm of pen at 1000m its not bad penetration, even when u play with abrams sep and leopard 2a6 you have to aim carefully to destroy enemy tanks, when i face challengers I have a lot of trouble finding the weak spot and if I miss the first shot I'm sure I'm still in the fight because I know he'll reload faster and finish the fight. the challenger's only real weakness is mobility

@@ycgameplays the L23 is so horrible that even though you hit the side of a Russian mbt right in the ammo and then into there fuel tank you have a 90% chance of doing nothing to him or a 10% chance of killing him. I do agree that getting stock apfsds is better then getting heatfs. But there are still downsides to the stock dart which does make the grind painful.

@@dedneyder3586 a while ago i faced the challenger with a t80 stock minion and when i saw this tank in front of me i knew i just had to sit and cry, because my shots didn't cause any damage, especially the version with extra protection on the sides

It literally does protect from 30mm APFSDS on the TES. People always ignore the extra composite armour plate behind the ERA.

​@@murkser4149Yes it does, but the key is that the TES ERA should be able to resist 30mm APFSDS entirely by itself, no composite required. Right now it is functionally identical to the 2F in terma if protection outside of a few edge cases, while weighing substantially more. It's arguably one of the best end of the line vehicles in the game back when it was an end of the line because it made the 2F lose it's research penalty and there was no reason to get the TES and be disappointed, you can already be disappointed without getting it.

Its been like that for years. I think the last 2 br changes were the only where Russian tanks weren't lowered. Previously you'd see more lowered than raised which was opposite of every other nation

They hate every nation except Russia.

Just look at the centurions. They were used to be 6.7 now 7.7 ~8.0

The slow speed is okay. If the lower front plate is penned, the player is using it wrong(though Chobham 2F really should be strong enough to ricochet most apfsds). The turret rotation and gun elevation should be much faster. But the breech armour error just makes it borderline unplayable

We likely won't get it anytime soon, russia seems to be the only nation that gets its tanks ahead of when they're accepted into service, like the 2S38

the incident your on about was a challenger without era or dorchester block on it was the reason they started applying the extra armour there as while very unlucky timing with the tank cresting a bank an rpg was shot through the lfp. its a shame the armour doesnt extend all the way down to the floor but lessons get learned things dont always hit where u expect them too.

@@DanSpam225 The shot was from a RPG-29 in fact, I think, which can penetrate practically any MBTs LFP if the gunner has the balls to aim there, a T-80 or an abrams stands the same chance against it too

@@tianhaoju4634 in Afgahnistan an M1 Abrams got destroy from a turret shot from an RPG29 I mean the Turret Armor defend 800mm Ap Rounds but Bro 750mm Armor Penetration yeah Abrams just got ripped of and Even the 70-90mm Chally 2 lower Hull armor got a Scratch. The Chally 2 lower Plate is an Chobham Steel Plate as I know thats why the RPG come threw less. Cause when you shot an Rpg agains a 500mm thick Beton wall the Wall would break and you would die when you stand behind. And the Mix from Steel and Chobham is stronger then any other Combination of Steel. and thats the Reason why the RPG only Hit and not kill the Tank. The Dorchester Block later after this happens. Is able to stop 3BM46 rounds from the Russinas so yeah. Gaijin wheres Buff ?

The LFP was penetrated by an RPG-29 using a tandem warhead. the RPG-29 was only first issued in 1989. there isn't much a few blocks of ROMOR could've done to stop this penetration, it's why the TES armor was such a huge leap forwards for it.

A J-10 would be great. A premium version of it however... would be not so great.

Lol, ask Ukraine to put the Challenger 2 on front line and we can see if Gaijin is telling the truth. Simple way to test in real battle
