bigtractorpower I’m from Southern Manitoba, Canada. Just 20 to 30 minutes south of Winnipeg.

It’s a great time of year. How far out is your harvest?

bigtractorpower I live along the Mississippi River in Illinois, and am about 20 minutes from Hannibal Missouri. My grandfather said the corn will be ready for harvest around the first week in October.

About 2-3 weeks

It is a smooth easy running tractor for grain carting.

Depends on how you look at it. It can get a little boring in the combine sometimes lol, to where as you're always zipping all over the place when running grain cart.

combines go nowhere without a good cart operator. they are worth their weight in gold.

They are nice tractors.

Claas and AGCO, Cat hasn't been involved with the Ag market, outside of engines and transmissions, for years

The CVT transmission makes this a very handy tractor for grain cart use.

They really eat up the acres. Claas uses an APS Hybrid Threshing system with two rotors. CLAAS offers this outstanding high-performance patented system with a pre-accelerator in the threshing unit. The pre-accelerator separates the crop more thoroughly, making crop flow up to 33% faster. Higher centrifugal forces sort considerably more grains − up to 30% of all grains are already sorted in the pre-separation concave directly below the accelerator. This delivers a net performance increase of up to 20% with no increase in fuel consumption. The Lexion combines sure can get up and move.

The 8900 is similar to the 8800 other than horse power. The 8900’s extra power is to harvest 150 bu. wheat in Europe. Wheat harvest in Europe tends to remain damp. The 8900’s extra power helps harvest the tough crop. The extra horse power is not needed for North American crops. The 8800 has plenty of power to harvest here.

@@bigtractorpower hi Jason, thanks for this answer. This makes sense. But I guess the 8800 has a Mercedes engine instead of MAN and a smaller grain tank. According to the claas website, except if the 8800 for north America is different to the European ones. This I don't know. Anyway thank and keep on filming such great videos ☺️

@@siegfriedacker7682 Not only the engine differs between EU and US machines. All US wide body machines have the bigger grain tank, and all of them can be opted with the big 18000l tank. Now with the new 8x00 and 7x00 you can distinguish wide and narrow body based on the first digit, same in both EU and US. The old 760 was for example wide body in US and narrow body in EU, I guess that is why you see so many 760 in the US but not in the EU.

The fact that the Lexion has more threshing capacity than Deere or Case, a 570R (Class 7 machine) has more threshing capacity than a Class 8 or 9 Deere, or a Case. So it really shows how silly the current class system used to classify combines is.

I do not use a drone. I have several friends that drone for me while I film the ground and cab footage. Several of them use the Mavick and others use the DJI Phantom. They speak highly of both.

Much easier to pull vs floater tires!!

They do not defoliant the corn. It is a 90 day crop. Once it has matured it starts to dry down naturally. This corn is planted in mid March. The summer heat in mid August dries the plants down fairly fast where harvest can begin by the end of August.

The cart pulls so much easier that the floater tires!!

It is an inline 7.
