I have a challenger friend who literally did this. He is not really that good at the game, has d4 mechanics and d2 macro, but we have this one other friend who is really good at jungling, he has been rank 2 several years, they played together and my first friend got carried by him. Now my “challenger” friend is a streamer who claims to be #1 singed but he hasn’t reached challenger since they stopped duo q in high elo😂. He is challenger but in flex and guess what, it’s because my rank 2 friend plays with them.

the thing is- elos are really inflated, just generally speaking, and even if in challenger that doesn't hold the same weoght as in dia-master, you still get some ego maniacs with good mechanics and shit macro (or vice versa) that get a lucky win streak and climb much further then they actually merit, now yeah, they climbed it so they deserve respect yh they're good players to some degree
